  1. Gastone, the "nadas" was meant as a status for the retro situation. I received my approval for 60% on Oct 20 and was informed I'd get a direct deposit for $1156.09 on Nov 1. The problem is I'm retired military and receive a retired check every month. I am entitled to CRDP because I'm more than 50%. But, since the award was after the 17th, I missed the cutoff for the Nov 1 payment and received my 1st payment on Dec 1. But no retro. Apparently, because I'm a military retiree, my pay records had to be audited to receive retro for some reason. I received the 1st payment so it wasn't because they had to verify CRDP. I havnt heard a thing since. I have made 2 request through IRIS and 2 phone calls. Both resulted in a canned answer and suggested patience.
  2. Gastone: I am going to he the local VA health facility between the holidays to get answers. On the phone I was told that I am entitled to both since I am more than 50%. I have to bring my award letter since they don't show me in the system. Thanks Slick, that info is encouraging. Gastone, I'm unclear of your questions in the 2nd para. I granted 50% for OSA and 10% for Aletgic Rhinitis. It was disappointing they gave me nothing for Sinusitis. The Dr. At my C&P Exam opined that all my diagnosis in my SMRs and current one from my Tricare Dr. we're misdiagnosed. They said it was all consistent with Allergic Rhinitis. I'm considering a NOD. I could use some advice. It was an FDC that turned into a regular claim because I offered a med request form from my prior Tricare PCM that I didn't think they had. This was after my initial FDC. One never knows what information the VA is working from, so you continue to offer help when things go so slow. Thanks everyone for your interest and help.
  3. I was led to believe my GI Bill school benefits ended 10 years from EAOS/Retirement Date. Can anyone confirm?
  4. Update: My credit union shows a pending CRDP payment deposit for 1 Dec. I thought this was non taxable but apparently not? Also, no sign of retro payment.
  5. Hooyah DDuck. Yea, I don't expect much more than 10% for both...if that. It seems to be a crap shoot with the VA. The only squeeze that was documented was during my stint at EDU. In fact all the training and operational demo is not detailed in my record. Only that it was a routine part of the job. Good luck and if I can provide any info for you, let me know.
  6. Gastone, I'm using it in the same geographic location...not the nether region. Besides, what the wife don't know won't hurt her. Naw, only submitted a couple of days ago. I was just looking for some affirmation of what I submitted or advice on what I should before I close it out by requesting a quick conclusion. The "quick conclusion" part was also a feeble attempt at humor.
  7. The little hairs in my ears? You mean I'm not supposed to use my nose hair removal gizmo in my ears?
  8. BTW, I asked the Doctor why he didn't recommend hearing aids. He said, and I am taking this out of context, that hearing aids don't help with high frequency loss. He said that were there no ambient noise nor high frequency sounds to inhibit the reception, I would probably hear someone easier. Apparently, hearing aids don't eliminate and might enhance those sounds as well. This was a specialist and not from the VA. In fact, he said that tinnitus is high frequency and is likely a contributor.
  9. I can't argue. I hear much better with noise reducing Bose headphones. I thought the same thing as they were conducting the test.
  10. Thanks Buck! Yes, I had hearing loss recorded in my SMR. It certainly has worsened but not to the level that you reference. Just a lot of what? what? ...and lip reading when the grand kids are about. I do have tinnitus and it has worsened. I was referred to a specialist. The results are hearing loss in the high range and tinnitus. He said this type of hearing loss is not usually helped by hearing aids and is definitely a result of long exposure of high decibels of noise. This is mentioned in the report. He also said he would support the notion that it is service connected since I've been riding a desk since retirement. I submitted my SMR audio tests, current exam, Fast Letter 10-35, my SMRs showing multiple ear squeezes from service deep sea diving and experimental diving. I also included my Verification of Military Experience and Traing and DD-214. I think that about sums it up. Thanks again for your help.
  11. Opened an FDC for tinnitus and hearing loss today. 28 years of EOD, Boatswain's Mate, Engineman and deep sea diving with multiple ear squeezes should account for my messed up hearing...right?
  12. So, if I'm understanding this correctly. A person doesn't get paid for any days of the month that they apply?
  13. Status: Although I was awarded 50% for OSA and 10% for Rhinitus on 21 Oct, I am still stuck in the VA bureaucracy...no payment nor retro. Apparently, because I am a retired vet, they have to verify CRDP and military pay records before I can receive both. They say it can take up to 60 more days. Go figure. Additionally, although my effective date was May 4, they say they will only pay from Jun 1. Is this true that they do not prorate? That is 27 days of non payment.
  14. Thanks Pepper. Yes, I think mine was a slam dunk, except for the time between studies. I'm still concerned about the low partial pressures of 02. I feel like I'm out of breath just going for the 5 wizzes at night. That might be getting adjusted to the face mask each time. Not so much when I'm up and about. That plus tingling in the legs...again only a night. I have no idea why I'm whining though. There are folks here that deserve our concern...and admiration. Anyway, thanks again. I'll look into getting paid back for my portion of the CPAP. That was my initial reason to begin with. Ive gotten some excellent advice along this relatively short journey props to Gastone, Andy, Buck and of course Berta.
  15. Nothing in my account yet. Oh well, keep piling it up. Maybe they are waiting for the 1st of the month.
  16. Thanks! Yep...I'd like to read the decision though. It will have to wait until my lreturn.
  17. Thanks Marine. My Service Rep emailed me that I was awarded on both claims but hasn't responded to my query concerning %. i read on here a couple of times that the $ finds it's way in my account via direct deposit before the notification letter reaches me. I was hoping for confirmation.
  18. OK, moved to PREPARATION FOR NOTIFICATION Estimated Completion: 10/20/2016 - 10/21/2016 Estimated Completion InfoTooltip with additional information Can anyone help me understand what is next? Is there anyway I can see the award before it comes in the mail? I am going on travel Fri and probably won't see my mail until after Nov 4.
  19. New Status: My Wounded Warrior Rep emailed me that they granted both conditions and it will be finalized in a few days. I went on ebenefits and the status went to Pending Decision Approval with an estimated completion of 10/19-10/21.
  20. Status: After languishing in the "Collecting Lint" phase, I sent a message through IRIS. The next day (today) it jumped to Prep For Decision" and the timeline moved up from early next year to Nov 4 - Dec 7. Good sign? Probably another tease.
