  1. Pete I hope your right. I am so stressed out about this. I just knew I would have known by now and I have always thought there is no way they can deny me. Just look at my xrays.
  2. The more physical you were in the past and the less you can do now is what counts. You should follow your app up with a residual functional capacity report. If you can get a Doc to sign it thats better. Good Luck
  3. I quess I was denied, as they have not told me a thing. They say things likt, it takes 3-4 months to get everything done or just hang in there, or you should know in a couple of days, you should know in a month. Today I was told to go to my SSA (local office) but my case is in quality review but if my local office wanted too they could give me the results. I am fairly sure I was denied. Otherwise I think they would have told me. So I am going tomorrow, even this lady said I should have known by now. Congrats again!
  4. Well, I called again my case is in quality review. I can only assume it was denied, since they refuse to tell me anything. Told me to go to my local office they might tell me. Call the VA about my current claim and its at the raters and still screwed up, they don't have my last communication that I cmrr. uote name='JayBrown1' date='May 22 2008, 09:39 AM' post='92303'] Just called SSA this morning to check status of claim and was told that my claim was approved on April 22 and my first check will be in third week of August and she gave me the amount that I would receive.
  5. Congratulations on finding out. I still don't know, how did you get them to tell you?
  6. I am not sure anyone can really answer you question especially without the whole report. The Psy part, she said you were inconsistent by pointing to your last visit (Jan) where you said your meds were working but your telling her your meds don't work. Again the same thing with the hallunications--you said your having them she observed you weren't and your last vist you said it was under control. She also indicated your assessement may not be reliable due to your problems. Is there reduced reliability and productivity due to mental disorder symptoms? Yes Examples and pertinent symptoms, including those already reported: Low energy, procrasination, and depressed mood may reduce her reliability and productivity. She is a caretaker of her husband, has some social contact weekly at church, has contact with her mother and is able to use her computer for support. What does it mean who knows. The IBS part is what you reported, what is important is her observation of your symptoms.
  7. Forget about the who, what, where, how or why. No one especially a solider should face a trial for shooting an inanimated object--I don't care what kind of bible it is. That's the point. I would prefer he shoot the bible then an innocent person. While some may find it wrong and others think its OK--IT SHOULD NOT BE AN ILLEGAL OFFENSE PUNISHABLE BY THE LAW OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. If an American solider reported it, the guy was shooting at the wrong object.
  8. Thanks everyone for responding. I will keep there names available should I need them. Still ify on doing anything. Carlie- Dr Shriner is the person I am seeing now.
  9. Thanks, I believe it was a female and she is in Tampa.
  10. If he does then we all need to petition the government. We need to show up in force where ever his trial is and be heard.
  11. The story today from SSA is I have a "tickle date" of June 16th. Which means they should have everything completed by then but it could be earlier or it could be later. This is 2 months after they made the decision-this is ridiculous that one has to wait that long to find out if they were denied. It's giving me false hope I was approved and that's the reason for the delay they are doing the numbers. In the meantime I am going broke. I am afraid to call anymore, each time it gets longer.
  12. The new story today is the "tickled date" to have file completed is June 16. Could be earlier could be later.
  13. I was able to get one from the Chief of Rheumatology, but no one else would, one actually said it's my job if I do. My wife would be upset if I lost money for you to get it.
  14. Jay, Keep us posted on when your notified. I am in the same boat. Decision made April 24. I will let you know when I get me answer. I have read that 7/10 claims are sent to quality review and that takes an additional month to be notified. I am going to call the 800 number daily to find out if the letter has been mailed. That way I know to expect it in the mail in a couple of days. When I called a couple of weeks ago they said I should have it by May 21, that was before they told me a decision was made. Could be she lied so she wouldn't have to be bothered dodging questions
  15. Someone mentioned a name of a PSY Doc who was with the VA but left recently and is in private practice and she (I think) was reasonably priced. I can't find the thread can you post her name again.
  16. Where do you get the evaluation tool from? Does it have to be a state certified couselor and who pays for it? Where do you get the minnesota personality test from. I hate those things.
  17. Thanks for the reply's. This is not my first claim that I have filed, the 2 VSO's I used were useless. I can do better on my own one of them has screwed my current claim up. The symbolic dream is what is more terrifying then the actual stressor. In my claim I just say I want to file for mst see attached letter. The letter states I reported to my ncoic what occurred, he directed me to speak with the OIC, which he knows I did as he was approached by the OIC about this incident. There was enormous tense in the unit due to this. The NCOIC was discharged and that's when things got ugly and went down hill. Thanks Carlie
  18. I can't find my old post so I am starting a new one. I have had 3 psy visits now, based on what I have told them they all agree I have mst/ptsd. Plus I showed one of them my stressor letter from a superior I reported the incident to. I am going to fill out the paperwork to file a claim. Can anyone direct me on what to file with the claim or how to word it. I am not using a VSO. I am not sure I will file it right now, but should I decide to really pursue this I would like for it to be prepared and ready to go. Does anyone have symbolic dreams or hyponotic (sp) dreams ( state prior to falling asleep) they are willing to share how they feel by pm. What I am trying to say the dream or feeling (panic) occurs prior to falling asleep its symbolic and not the actual traumatic event. I think I am more screwed up then I thought I was. I have this hyponotic dream that I have never told anyone for the past 30 years untl recently I told the psy docs about. While it was a relief to tell someone, I don't want this in my records, too late now, so I am more confused on what to do. There is more to it, that I haven't told anyone. I don't think I ever will. I am looking to see if anyone else has this problem and the other thing also. Ruby
  19. My doctors said I was 100 disabled in March of last year but I continued to work until 12/04/07- I filed Jan 8, 2008. DDS got it Jan 22, 2008. I went to Psy doc in March 2008, I went to the med doc April 9, 2008. They made the decision April 24, 2008. I did call my DDS case worker and ask a dumb question on purpose he told me I should have been notified by now and to " just hang in there until I get my letter." That could mean anything. I am finally calming down and just waiting for the letter. Either I get it and celebrate or I appeal. However, my finanical situation is such that I may be forced to go back to work. This is not a pleasant thought. I have sucked the pain up for years guess I can do it again, if I can't, I will sell my house and go from there. I have no letters just the 800 number telling me its decided. I should recieve a letter in a few days. Yet, when I question them to see if the letter had been mailed they said no. So they changed thier story to it could be up to a month before I get a reply. I do know if your denied you get a thick package and it tells you why your were denied--each doctor and what was said. That has to take time to formulate a denial. So who knows- I will let you know whn I know. Thanks for the support.
  20. A little unoffical poll. What takes longer a denial or approval. It was decided on the 24th of April its been 21 days and no letter yet, said it would be upto a month, probably sooner. My new meds made me drunk/lightheaded so I can't take them on days I drive or have something to do. I am anxious just to get the answer--anyone know if they denied it 21 days ago would I have a letter by now?
  21. If nothing else this thread made me and others laugh. I am in Florida so I will turn the heat off soon but during the winter months it would be nice. I like my water at 90 so its getting expensive.
  22. I wasn't upset, if anything I was amused myself. Thought if it was prescribed I could get some assistance. I would take the travel pay to stay home and do therapy. That would be 170 a month I think they would pay me. It would cost me 160 to drive with the cost of gas. I am not upset with anyone. Ruby
  23. Pete, I really hope so. I am not confident at all. No answer in the mail today.
  24. Its prescribed therapy for my arthritis, glad you all got a good laugh. I don't want to drive to the VA on a daily basis.
  25. Called today to see if a decision was made on my SSD claim, I have additional info to support my claim if there was no decision. I was told today they made the decision April 24th. I have called every week and they told me no, so I keep sending in more evidence, everytime I go to the VA I get a copy of my records and send them in. That decision was made 2 weeks after my last visit with their Doc. I am not encouraged that it is a favorable decision. Will let you know what the answer is when I get it. The guy that answered the phone and told me it was decided April 24th, said we can't tell you the decision, which I already knew. He did say if it was favorable then I could expect a check in 60-90 days. Is that good sign or do they say that to all. I hate this effexor I am taking, I am so down. Wish me luck its favorable. Ruby
