I just retired, They just dont call it a retirement physical anymore. It is the same physical as anyone gets but the part one is at the Army Hospital and part two is at QTC locations which verify all the claims and do the C and Ps for the claimed processes. This is for the Army process. I went to Fort Knox hospital for part one, and civilian contracted Doc's for part 2. the DAV rep at Knox is awesome BTW...

My claim was done at the DAV office at Fort Knox Kentucky by Bill Spencer. He is amazing, a dedicated worker who I can say single handedly made my administrative portion a success. The claim was processed through Winstin Salem NC Regional Office. I survived the C and P's based on input from this site. I survived a most terrible time in my life from friends mad on this site. what a process.....

seems like if you can claim CRSC, then it is a better deal. Anyone know if you have combat related does it make the whole amount non taxable or just the combat related portion? I am filing for CRSC as soon as I get the official stuff in the mail. (I only have a fax copy award letter.)

Looks like Gen shinseki has those crazy people actually doing their jobs. I loved that guy when he was in the Army and now I think the VA lazies are gonna pay. CONGRATS, I need to file TDIU, does that keep you from working?

Where on the letter does it state TDIU or perm or temp awarded??? The letter I recieved just says percentages, amount per month but doesnt say anything about permenant or temporary. I didnt file for TDIU, this was a retirement claim so noone ever asked me to do that nor did I in my wildest dreams expect 90 percent based on what you guys on here go through to get 10%. It does state "original award/CRDP, guess I need to find out what CRDP is LOL.... here is another paragraph that is confusing, "for now we must withhold part of your compensation until December 2009 for the period that your combined service-connected evaluation is less than 100%." Does this mean I am rated 90% until december 1st and then 100% ???????? Everything claimed was service related but that was expected as everything happened while I was in and rediagnosed within the last year (someone on here told me that THANK YOU) I was faxed this from a va rep, and it says we have enclosed this and that... So I think there is more coming in the mail.... I must say, this has elevated my mood, but the cloud is still there. Any members nearby can have a coke beer or whatever on me. Man, why don't they talk like you or me LOL...

Hey ya'll. I just wanted to say Hi and thanks for all your help. I filed a BDD claim when I retired from the Army on 1 AUG and got the results back today as 90%. I am really 160% but fuzzy va math LOL... I didnt see where it said anything was temporary or permanent. Thanks so much, I am here, still struggling with the fog and trying to find a good cocktail mix to get me back on my feet so to speak.. I LOVE YOU GUYS..... Erich

I want to thank everyone for the comments.... I am still here, not alot, just getting by, but struggling very much. She got a restraining order against me, and asked for eviction cause I told her I was not leaving. Cops "confiscated the guns cause she brought up PTSD and I guess if you have PTSD you are no longer capable of having constitutional rights......... I am calling my congressman on that one. This is what we fight for, and we do it freely. I will update you all as much as I can. Thanks for your support.

I am so trying to maintain a sense of humor, I am not sure when I will be able to get back online, I am borrowing a friends computer. One day as I came home from work, still in my uniform, wife tells me she wants a divorce and calls cops to evict me. So there I was, a week away from my retirement and homeless. I am sleeping in my truck and at friends homes. I go to Ft Knox and retire, do all the paperword, and on my way home, get a call, it is my Dr. The C and P doc called him, told him to get my approval to transfer records. Come to find out, I have two tumors on my spine down in the L something area where it meets the S something. Great story here is that in ten years I will probably be in a wheelchair paralyzed and peeing or worse all over myself. Did I mention she gave the cops my guns? So after 22 years in the Army, I am finally a veteran, a homeless one. I guess the only good thing is my friend Mr PTSD hasnt shown up yet, or is Mr PTSD that new dark friend Mr Depression and not Mr Anger? If anyone could spare a prayer, I would sure appreciate it, as I am kinda goin through a tough time. Sorry to drop all this, but I need to get it out, I am drowning........

above 30% is now considered full retirement and is paid in monthly installments like a va disability and they receive full retiree benefits. If a person takes the lump sum, then they get the check and the boot, sad state.....

Guys and Gals, my whole thing is there is an attempt to protect the young dumb and full of combat boots kid who as I have experienced, goes out with this one or that one, has consensual sex who even the room mate on the other side of the room can attest that she said yes, and she never said no, and he didnt do any pushing, or any violance etc. Well that Soldier was sentanced to 10 years at Leavenworth. That is my point, there is a difference, and not all rapists are the status quo type. Some are dumb, never get told no, and are still rapists due to the fact she was drunk. Did she in turn rape him cause he was drunk too????? I am all about punishing the criminals, but like I said, sometimes the crime doesnt fit the punishment. In the case I am refering to, that kid gets out of jail in 5 more years, will be a 28 year old felon with no future ahead of him cause a girl who told all her friends when she was sober, she was gonna do this and that to him did what she said she wanted to when she was drunk and since he was a christian and had problems with premarital sex, she yelled rape. A little different to the common clear case where there is a 100% victim and 100% criminal. so if I offended anyone that actually has been that victim than I apoligize very sincerely as I see why I need to. BUT to the others on their soap boxes, just makes sure you dont fall off it B) my point is this is a friendly website, nothing anyone on here says is ever meant to be taken as an insult, so people need to stop taking an innocent statement and getting their panties/briefs in an uproar. is the next topic about canned fruit gonna cause a controversy cause I open the can from the bottom cause my grandma told me to do it that way????? no is no, but what is at question is when a woman says yes, and she is drunk, then the guy who takes her yes and doesnt force anything, but ends up a rapist. That is why I say when I got married, we had a party and my wife said HELL YES, but i guess I raped her by the definition here because she was drunk. there is a difference in the state of the rapist, so there should be a difference in the punishment. punish em all, but as in the death penalty, make the punishment fit the severity of the rapists' actions.

recently I have tried to help all the vets I bumped into in my C and P exam gambit, I bumped into this site, and man, what a great abundance of info here, hope they can use it to the extent that it helped me I think.......

Purple, you are right, it is an attempt as usual for them to check a block, the bad thing is the people who are actually trying to help victims are getting the shaft. You guys deserve better treatment, better care after the attack and definately better T and P DOC support. As far as biggotry, stupidity and apoligies, there isnt any and wont be any. The fact is as I can only hope some people see it like this, there has to be a difference between a crime of a pyscho and a crime of a drunk kid. just like a drunk kid gets a lighter sentance for killing a car full of people cause he is drunk, and didnt mean to , and would never have done it sober. I think there is a difference between a pyscho rapist and a drunk rapist. They are still rapist, the person raped is still raped regardless, but I see murder being alot like rape, it kills innocence, it kills comradere, it kills the person who was the victim, My thing is that while there is no excuse for raping, and there can never really be enough care and treatment for MST as in Purples case, but is the system covering up for rapists if under some circumstances there might be a reason for a lessor punishment? I am not saying let them off.. Purple knows me a lil, she educated me alot about rape and I hope you guys understand I am not advocating no punishment for rapists. but like I said, how many guys would be rapists if the cops busted in on honeymoon suites cause she was drunk. A good effort to educate the public but a terrible execution and a waste of money. I think they could have done a better job as I probably could have in writing this post, but dont shoot them for trying to do something rather than nothing. I would even support life in prison for rape, but the right type of rape.. Purple, Am I wrong to assume there is a difference between a drunk dum guy and a sober pyschopath? a drunk dum guy should still be punished........ but not to the same extent as a pyschopath. If Purple says I am wrong, then I will apoligize, she will judge me as I think we have alot of the same values.

Sorry to all, I dont understand why all this is in an uproar over someone trying to do SOMETHING about rape. It may not be the best case scenerio to solve every case, it might not even be 23rd best. The problem is as this, someone is TRYING to solve a problem that exists with NO solution to it. There will always be a jerk who does this to a poor undeserving victom. There will never be a way this act is good. There will never be enough Dr's to treat the issue of the raped having the wounds for life. But the idea that there is someone at least on your side enough to try and add something to get people's attention should never draw so much criticism. should they have gotten a better phrase, yes, does it solve the problem NO, but darn, someone is trying to help, take it for what it is and be happy somebody is on your side trying to get something better for the victom. If it prevents ONE rape, that is a success. Not every good intentioned person is going about undermining people and the treatment they should get. This is about making people know a woman or man can not give consent while she or he is drunk, NOTHING ELSE. It is not about anything else but to make sure people can ID that it is rape, it is not intended IMHO to prevent the jerks who rape sober people in other circumstances, it is a targeted message meant to get the attention of non rapists who end up in a situation they shouldn't be in, and do something they dont fully understand that turns them into a rapist. can't you see a young guy, drunk, at a bar, and a girl there too and drunk, they go do this and that, and then one is a victom and one is a rapist and neither would have done it sober. it is intended to get that drunk guy and girl aware of the situation and prevent that one type of rape that isnt about control, that isnt a violent act, that is rape but done by drunk consensual people that dont know any darn better. The jerks will still rape innocents unfortunately. But should the two innocent people who enter a bar only meaning to get drunk and then something stupid happens and is a rape, be the same crime and punishment as the rape that is done by a pycho? I think there are 5 different types of murder due to intent of the crime, and maybe there should be different types of rape charges. I had a 18 year old kid in Germany sent to prison for 10 years all because he had sex with a girl who was drunk and didnt remember it. It isnt right, but how many times have I gone to the club with my wife, come home and had sex, that isnt rape is it? Shoot, how many rapes occur after wedding parties when the bride and grrom get drunk the run to the room???? I am not validating a crime, but there needs to be some sort of law passed where it is like rape 1, rape 2, rape 3 etc just like murder,manslaughter,2nd degree murder, vehicular manslaughter etc....... a rapist is an a#%hole, but dont let there be two victims to this certain kind of rape. (not saying it shouldnt be punished)

ok, day two, I went through the Louisville VA due to Ft Knox. Havent even seen the Louisville VA, but all pro military providers doing C&P's range of motion tests were great, Dr was very helpful, a great experience, I am waiting for the train to hit me, this seems too easy in comparison to everyone elses. Tomorrow is the Upper Gi and scope YUCK...... more to come tomorrow.......

OKAY, So the first C and P was today. All the questions, no childhood things were asked. part I liked was about where and when and "did you ever feel in danger" I wonder how it went, I broke down on her, cried, etc, embarassing, but I wonder since she cried too that it was a good thing....... She even stepped past and recommended things, wrote a note to my T and P doc's and seemed very helpful. The second was a hearing, Dr asked me what my tinitus was like, said yeah, gave me the hearing test, said definately, even said "he would be shocked if they wouldnt rate me for both based on his findings". I hope this goes the way it looks as far as tomorrow and Wednesday.... tomorrow is the physical, and all the boo boo's LOL.... hope I am on the right track, I am very upbeat, but that darn C and P this morning broke me off a bit.... thanks brothers and sisters for telling me what to expect.
