  1. Thanks James, that clears things up a lot. Now I know how to proceed. DH
  2. Thanks James, how do I go about service connection since the surgery has been done and the basal cell has been removed. I should have filed for service connection for this but I waited too long and now the surgery is done. Also, since the stitchs opened up there is a larger scar. They told me the stitches would hold but I woke up in the middle of the night with blood everywhere. It was a mess. Am I SOL or do I have a claim here for the scar. DH
  3. Can you get Service connection for residuals of a basal cell carcinoma such as for the scar after the procedure. My scar is more disfiguring than the basal cell carcinoma ever was. The stitches had opened up after the procedure and it didn't heal correctly. I even went back to the Dermatologist and he said just let it heal like it is. Now i'm left with a big scar on the right side of my face. DH
  4. Nice to hear about your award for depression. Partial awards are nice too. I hope you hear something soon about your back. Atleast now you have more benies to go with your new rating percentage. I forgot all the extras with 60% but there here on Hadit if you do a search. DH
  5. The last exam had that my chronic diarrhea was having a "moderate" effect on my daily functioning. I let her know I was having 3 -4 diarrhea episodes every day with nausea and stomach pain so severe I would be hunched over in pain in the bathroom. I even had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the exam. My VA medical records also backed all this up. Then she puts "moderate." Three to four diarrhea episodes a day with pain and nausea isn't moderate but severe in my opinion. She said my C-file wasn't available for review. This was for an increase. It's VA medical records so has the medical history right there in front of her on the computer. Why wouldn't she have my file anyway. It had been two months this exam had been sheduled. She didn't even want to look at my VA doctors opinion I handed her. DH
  6. Pete, and add another 2/hour for the duduction in a civilian payroll check for healthcare with deductible.
  7. AMEN to that Pete........DH Pete said, Sometimes its just better to count your blessings and accept what you have.
  8. Sure it was DAV? Make sure you verify who's on the other end. These days no telling who's out there trying to fraud veterans. Did you get the girls name? If you did call the DAV back and ask if she works there. I would call them back anyway just to make sure. I'm finding it kind of odd that they would have called you. DH
  9. How do you become a continued subscriber? Is continued subscriber with Lexus Nexus or is this something else? DH
  10. No offset with SSD, not SSI. SSI is considered NEEDS BASED so I don't think you can get SSI if you have IU but SSD is still paid in full with IU. DH
  11. You're so correct Larry...Thank Gd that we are in America and that we have these benefits. Compared to many other Countries we are well taken care of. DH
  12. Couldn't agree more John...If you're IU and SSD then you likely are pulling in around 4k month tax free. I know for me it would be hard finding a job that pays this in this market and taxes taken out on top of that. DH
  13. I tried Berta and was told they needed proof of being a Veteran Advocate. DH
  14. If you work and make less than 950 month then it won't affect your SS. If you go over that your automatically kicked into their program known as the trial work period. I think this lasts 9 months then your SS stops. You then have 36 months in case you stop work due to your disabilities. After that you have to go through the whole process again. Don't attempt unless your totally sure you can continue working. Getting IU is a long arduous process and takes many vets many years to get plus all the benies that come with IU and PT. Remember what got you IU, your unemployability then give it some SERIOUS thought if you really want to risk it. DH
  15. Berta, is there something else we should tell them as far as getting the advocates rate? I told the lady this and she didn't know what I was talking about. She said she would search for this discount and call me back. DH
  16. I ordered too fast yesterday and forgot about the advocates rate. Calling now (on hold) trying to get this refunded back. I will keep all updated. The lady didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I told her I should get the advocates rate. I did tell her that I am involved in helping other Vets with claims. Let ya know what happens. DH
  17. You can order without registering. They give you the option. DH
