My Vet has been awarded all, A&A, Adaptive housing, Adaptive Auto. We spend many hours each week at Dialysis. Have been away from the site for a few months. I have missed a lot from what I see the whole site has changed. Hope and pray you are all well and have your own success soon.

No service member or vetran having a valid ID issued by either the VA or military institutin may be denied access to any facility. As long as the service dog is clearly marked. The vetran or service menber's ID cover the service dog just as it covers his or her attendent.

Ricky,
I can tell your mom was a very important part of you life, as you share her passing with all of us. I know she will be missed, but never forgotten. So very sorry you have lost your mom. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. When mom's pass they become beautiful Angel's who guide us through the rest of our day's.

Bupropin is taken by my husband as well as Citalopram and Divalproex and Alprazolam. All for mental health. The Bupropin was discontinued after he had a seizure last year. The Bupropin has been restarted this past week. When he was taking it did help but does take time to work into your system. We hope this helps you also.

If you are the least bit unsure you could always 24/7 contact VA Tel Health let them know what is going on and request your pc doctor order lab's? If after reviewing lab's pc can set up quicker appointment.

Hello to all, July of this year i wrote a letter requesting aid & attendance for my husband. I listed his conditions to the best of my ability. My letter was compelling enough for a phone call this past Friday on our way to yet another appointment. The VRO asked if I could have a DR fill out A&A and fax back to her same day. My husbands home health care nurse took charge and got it completed and faxed. DR had stated he was terminal and was unable to be left unattended. I received another call saying exams are being set for expidited claim for both A&A and adaptive home also. Not sure what time line an expidited claim will take?

If needed you may request HBHC home base health care a team composed of nurse, mental health, occupational therypist, social worked, nutritionist, and chaplain as my husband has on a regular schedule. this could be considered in your request for rating.

Thank you all once again. An update, our story was aired on local television, not to chastise the doctor or the practice their names were not mentioned, but I did want to raise awareness to the rights of those who are in need of service dogs. Thank - You all.

Diabetic and ibuprofen :D please check with your DR on this. Have been told by many ibuprofen can give you false blood sugar readings.Acetaminophen AKA Tylenol safer for diabetics and Just as Pete said gabapentin can help with the Neuropathy.

Sorry for the loss of clarity, The appointment was not with a VA doctor this was an appointment made by the VA outsourced to specialist who have offices located here in NE IN. This office was only one hour away instead of the three hours to Indy. Even after asking to be seen without his service dog and I out in waiting room was still refused to be seen. This he ask with tear in eyes he has had three strokes causing much damage to his brain and the loss of all sight in one eye. I failed to keep him safe from emotional harm. I am requesting he be allowed to be seen at the the Indy Va again.

New to hadit, I am a vet as is my husband he is 100% sc. The VA made an appointment with a specialist. We went to the appointment and were refused treatment due to having the service dog. His service dog was wearing his service vest with his patches stating ( I AM A SERVICE DOG ).Today we had a Television interview this is being held for a couple weeks so he can get through his new appointment with different DR. same practice different location. Not sure what to do next?

Our situation, I am a vet and so is my husband of 28+ years.1992 had a breakdown on his ship his sugar was elevated but not took into consideration stayed 3 days in observation. My husband served 17 and half years before finding out he was diabetic. His carrier was over. 1994 retired with a rating of 20%. Tried working jobs didn't last long due to bi polar episodes. By 1999 he had become more withdrawn only going to appointments if he was out of medication. He tried again in 2005/2006 to work again this didn't workout. 2006 he had his first stroke than a heart attach. 2008 two strokes resulting in total blindness in one eye. Deteriation has been rapid in the last 18 mo. 50-55% blockage of blood flow to both legs, limited use of arm due to stroke, stomach doesn't diguest without medication, thus food doesn't meet with insulin readings are out of control, now kidneys are failing will have a port put in for his dialysis next mo.New has problem swollowing needs medications crushed i help him bath, dress and change our sheets with accidents. Didn't know could be reevaluated till last year was granted 100% service connected. I left the work force to care for my husband. He now has home base health care. the team comes to our home, Nurse mental health and so on. Social Security has denied his claim stating not enough credits since his last qualifing period of 2003? have requested a hearing.

I started with the shove of my cousin who called the 800 life line. someone who listens doesn't judge. Than they followed up with a call and an apointment. Dr said PTSD. At the VA. The stresser of my husbands death left me no where to hide from what I called my secret & the child I kept and we raised. CALL I know you can do it. 1800-273-8255
