Early Medical Discharge

Question

Hi! I had a vet move in across from me and he says he didn't know he had cancer when he enlisted. At some point he had a complete induction medical exam. Several months later while in boot camp the military discharge him on medical grounds of cancer. The VA claims even though he had the exam, the short time period served is not enough for benefits or connection.

Ever hear of a vet being denied after having passed an induction exam and serving in the military? The VA has got the guy believing he has nothing coming, even though he served for a short while.

We are all Brothers and Sisters who wore the uniform or have loved ones who did.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

My neighbor injured his back on weekend end leave about 20 years ago. He returned to the base and got extensive medical care.Apparently this problem showed up in his SMRs a few times before he retired too.

Last year he filed claim for this back injury as he was having on the job problems at the VA due to it.The VA doc SCed it.

In 7-8 months he got award from the RO.Only 10% and this was deducted from his retirment mil check.

He sent with his original claim- all of his SMRs and a copy of his VA treatment records.

7-8 months is really fast for this RO (Buffalo) but he didnt wait for them to ask for anything.

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
