Ron II
Has the VA gone back to a system where calls to the 1-800 number are normally answered by the applicable regional office? I've noticed that I've been assisted during my last seven calls by my servicing VARO, rather than the centralized system. Ron

HadIt.com Elder LarryJ Posted July 10, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted July 10, 2008 HECK, folks! I'd be HAPPY just to TALK with SOMEONE! I call and I get to hear this really terrible MUZAK (supposedly Country and Western, after all my RO is in WACO, TX) for however long it is that I am stupid enough to stay on "hold". The last time, it was 36 minutes, the time before, 40 minutes........y'all either must have more patience that I do, or your bladders must be bigger............. "It is cold and we have no blankets. The little children are freezing to death. My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death. I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find. Maybe I shall find them among the dead. Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever." Chief Joseph
Ron II
It's never taken me longer than four minutes to talk to someone at the 1-800 number and I've called many times. My only explantion for the undue waiting time in Texas is that from my experience, Texans do talk slower... Ron
