I'm sorry to say this.......but, it's true. If you called back and got another "answer person", you'd get another answer.

When my original claim was at the BVA, I'd call every couple weeks to check. My wife and I had us a little "betting pool" as to what the "answer de jour" was this week.

My first question would be, in your particular question, how DID the "answer person" have an "answer" if it was NOT in the computer?

Did they get up and walk down to the second floor and ask the "rater person", while you were on the 'phone?

All the "answer person" has on his/her desk IS a computer with which to access your file.

See what I mean?

"It is cold and we have no blankets.

The little children are freezing to death.

My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death.

I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find.

Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad.

From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever."

I had the same experience before. If the system has not ran an update then the center your calling might something different from another. It usually can take up to a few days for all the centers to be on the same page. I was told before that my rating was done and I would receive my award letter in 30 days and I received it in 4 days, so it all depends. Just my opinion on what happened to me. Good luck and I hope received the rating you are entitled to.

Actually it has happened that a decision was made and still not in computer. As even when the decision is made the VSO has to sign off on it and some times other housekeeping.

The fact is many of us found out when the check was in the bank and than got the letter from VA.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
