Edwin Crosby has a wonderful site on his research on SPN codes and their affect to vets-

Employers knew these codes after the Vietnam War and erroneous SPN codes cost many Vietnam Vets the ability to get good jobs.

An erroneous SPN code can be corrected.

Also he has been a guest at SVR radio many times to provide mor information-

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

On my DD214, under "Separation Code" it says: " SFK". my DD214 still reflects my status as type of separation as "Retirement" while I was on TDRL. I was told I would not be issued a new DD214 to show my status change to medically discharged. I've questioned this over the years. Can't find SFK on that link.

Any ideas? I have a few of my own, but can't repeat them here.....LOL!!

Search here for separation codes http://boards.law.af.mil/

Here's one with SFK http://boards.law.af.mil/AF/BCMR/CY1998/9703689.pdf

On edit, I had more results with SFK, standing alone. ~Wings

Thanks Wings...so apparently my code is what is used when someone is put on TDRL (which is what I was).

Question for anyone....shouldn't the AF had to have changed my DD214 to reflect that I was eventually medically discharged? As it stands now it still shows "Retirement".
