Question

I had my DRO hearing going on 4 months and it felt like a slam dunk any ideas on how much longer something like this could drag out? or any action I might want to pursue? I just don't want to be stuck in limbo again for months at a time and give them time to screw my claim up again or make more mistakes as they stated at my DRO Hearing. The longer it pushes on the more I start to worry. Thanks yall.. Yog

Yoggie..

Even Nuclear weapons dont motivate DRO's to "hurry". My suggestion is you find something else to occupy your time..your grand kids, fishing, playing golf, chess, church, etc, and take your mind off of it.

"Watched Pots never boil" anyways, so dont even wait for the mailman. The VA has taken enough from you already, so dont give them any more of your sanity than they already got.

JMHO.

Rich,

Does the DRO now have your SSDI papers.

Sometimes this holds things up.

By the way, how did the SSDI turn out. Things straight now?

Always,

Betty

Yes Betty my VSO Hand carried it to him (DRO Hearing Officer) and I carried a copy and faxed it 2 times I have seen on here to many times they say they never received evidence. Betty there is know good reason why they have to make me wait for 4 or more months for a decision it is a clear cut and dry claim nothing complex and they know it.. Having to wait like this make me very very suspicious that they are looking hard for a way to beat me out of what is a solid claim....... Rich

I have a little suggestion. Go to your US Congressperson's office and talk to the person who is the laison between the congresscritter and the VA. Each and every one of the congresscritters have such a person in their LOCAL office's. Look up the congressperson's LOCAL address in your 'phone book (in the "blue" pages if I'm not mistaken).

Anyway, just have them send a request seeking the outcome of your claim.

I know that many on the board will advise you that doing this causes your claim to be heldup.........but, I found that for mine, it speeded it up.

When you do talk to this laison, tell them that you are concerned that it WILL hold up things.

I found that the laison for my Congressman had more contacts and greater "pull" than did any of the VSO/SO personnel.

just a suggestion.......

"It is cold and we have no blankets.

The little children are freezing to death.

My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death.

I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find.

Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad.

From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever."

yoggie,

Remember, all claimant's feel they have, "what is a solid claim".

Just keep hanging in there.

Take deep breaths :)
