Check Status Of Claim

My SO checked on my claim and where it is in the process and she was told that it was coming up for a decision in June.

Is this more hogwash to keep me in suspense and not checking each week or do they really know when your claim is due for a decision?

I'd like to believe my SO has a track on this, since she was given some type of code to look up in a binder I have seen her refer to after making a call to the VRO and talks to a cirtain person their. Seh has never steared me wrong yet, but as most of you may be aware, I'm bit parinoid where the VA is concerned.

What's your opinion?

Nice to see you Rock. My vso could only guess about when my claim was to be 'seen' or 'rated' with VA internal supsense dates.I was given a few different rating, authorization and promulgation rating dates, but my claim had a few paths to cross. If all goes well, you will get a more normal scheduled process. But meanwhile, if you wanted to check by Iris, then at least you would have a printed copy of your claim status or at least recognition of it. (something more for the file).

Don't recall what your current claim is, but I wish you luck on it and hope your health is good meanwhile.

She's going off the VA's internal suspense date, which is as worthless as the piece of paper it's written on. It could be decided before or after that date. You need to keep calling.

If they do make a decision on my claim in June, it is in line with my last claim, whcih took nine months. Don't worry, I'm not going to hold my breath or anything.

Cowgirl, my lates claim is for two painful scars, secondary to my fractured nasal bone, which are worth 10% each and also for my chronic sinusitis and rhinitis problems, secondary to the nasal bone fracture and deviated septom with 50% nasal obstruction to both nasal airways. It should be worth at least 10% also, but I'm hoping for something higher.

The day I spoke with my DAV rep, her computer system was down so she couldn't check the status of my claim.

The last couple of times I've called 1-800-827-1000, the call was answered by someone in Philadelphia (I am in Maine), and always thought the call was answered by the VA in the state you called from. Anyway, both times I called the person on the other end of the phone was very helpful and was able to tell me where my claim was at in the process ... and right now it's with the raters.

I was able to waive a 10 and a 30 day waiting period over the phone, as I had no more 'new' information for my claim. 'Just keep it moving along' I would say. I have been waiting since June 08 ... and I should be hearing something soon.

Rock, good claim work, do you have sleep apnea also? Brotherinlaw has been sleeping, feeling better since diagnosed and wearing a mask.

BMC, are you sure that you were able to waive a wating period over the phone without paperwork? Thats very interesting.
