What To Do With Increasing Disablitiy

Question

I am rated for arthritis.  My doctor has prescribed several different disease modifying drugs over the past year.  And I need to contact the VA to try to increase my rating.

How would I do this and what supporting documentation is helpful for doing this?

Thanks for the help

I really wonder if the VA does the calculation on bilateral conditions. I am bilateral for both hands and feet. I get 90% total with a 70% rating, 60% rating and 10% ratings for PN on all four limbs plus 10% for DMII. I don't see where the VA did the bilateral rating on my hands and feet. I know when you get close to 100% you play hell actually getting 100% no matter how many conditions you have.

The rating cannot be taken down if one is still on the immunosuppressive therapy. I for one am going to continue to take it for the rest of my life, so I would not worry about being downgraded for Psoriasis.

As to the arthritis, I can imagine for some it may get better, but I know that it is not likely for me. If they want to reduce it I don't think it would work without a C and P exam.

I am in a similar situation. I was awarded 40% for bilateral rhuematoid arthritis in hands, wrist, and ankles. I am on Humira, 5x 2.5mg methotrexate, an 2x nabumentone daily. How do I get the VA to correct this? I am lost on how to get any of this accomplished.

Big:

If you are already rated for this condition with those meds my research indicates that you should have at least a 60% rating for those drugs you are taking.

I don't have the ratings code but its on Hadit somewhere. Use the search engine and ask specific questions.

Good Luck
