carlie
That reminds me of some practical joker from when I was in elementary school. Someone would reach behind the monitor and turn the brightness all the way down. Power on, but nothing on the screen. The number of computers were limited, so people would do that to get out of doing assignments. Dang Vync, You had some computers and monitor's in elementary school ! Hell I'm so old I think we used chisels and slate ~ lol. carlie Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.
HadIt.com Elder LarryJ Posted December 2, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted December 2, 2009 Dang Vync, You had some computers and monitor's in elementary school ! Hell I'm so old I think we used chisels and slate ~ lol. carlie Yeah! Heck, I'm so old (and you can believe this if you want to........), I'm so old that, when I was in, like the third grade, we had to go down to the store and buy FOUNTAIN PENS and INK IN THE BOTTLES, for our Penmanship and Cursive Writing class. Heck, my Momma sent me to school with a NEW shirt that first day................then, for some reason, she started sending me to school in OLD CLOTHES.........I think I finally figgered out why! "It is cold and we have no blankets. The little children are freezing to death. My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death. I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find. Maybe I shall find them among the dead. Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever." Chief Joseph
Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Vync Posted December 2, 2009 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Share Posted December 2, 2009 They took away our abacus if we did not behave. When I went to Korea in '87-'88, I noticed that they were all in use at the banks. I thought I saw my old one, but was afraid to bring it up because the woman behind the counter looked like she knew kung fu. akwidow
I got the virus that alters your files, makes you think your virus protection is on when it is not, and I had to finally format my hard drive. Be more careful than you think you need to be, and if at all possible, save all data, photo and etc. files on another drive. We use some pretty skookum virus proterction....Computer Associates.
