The color of the envelope IS NOT AN INDICATOR of a claim being granted or denied.

Whom ever is mailing the paperwork out, just grabs whichever envelope they have in supply.

Aw Congratulations to you and your wife ~ !! Reading your sincerely written post just made my heart cry. I sure hope you have the correct dates on your decision. Also if you are eligible for SSDI, thats a boon too.

Life is good, thanks to the Heros here at Hadit and some unsung heros at the VA. If not for the VA, guess we wouldn't be here on the net or at Hadit looking to garner disability or family benefits - namely 'whats due' each.

Stay blessed, be prepared for changes and enjoy the 'instant' weight lift - thanks for sharing you joy,

Cowgirl and family

I don't think any of us ever forget the day we opened "the right envelope" you didn't know if you should trust it or cry and most of us didn't really beleive it until the money was in the bank

Congrats on your 100% this is the only type site on the web where people are happy to be told they are totally disabled but the sad fact is we can't change our health most of us have had to fight the VA tooth and nail to get rated 100% thats why we find this place we get to the point where we have "had it" with the VAROs and their bad faith in dealing with out claims, most of us have been denied before we even start looking for other veterans with similar problems to ask what they are doing and how do we make the system work better for us?

CW3 I look at it like this all we are asking the VA to do is keep the "PROMISE" nothing more and nothing less but I don't think any of us were told that we would have to fight to make them keep that PROMISE

Find a way to enjoy life now you have earned it

:) I received the dreaded BROWN envelope from the VA, after reading hundreds, maybe thousands, of post. I immediately had a knot in my stomach. So much so I made my wife read it and tell me the results. I was shocked by the results, 100% permanent.

My situation was different than most on this site. Through the hard work, sweat, tears, and sacrifices of those Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marine's before me, which legislated to establish a program that benefits all those that follow, secured my decision. For those that are struggling, and continue to struggle, with the VA system, I need to stop and say "THANK YOU". Thank you, for it not for all of you, everyone would be struggling. What you may not realize is your fight forced the system to adapt and evolve into a system that supports the newly discharged and retired service members.

I wish everyone success, not matter how large or small their claim may be. We must all stick together. We have seen and experienced things most in the civilian world would never understand. It's unspoken amongst ourselves and everyone deserves this system to be on their side.

Thank you all again and I will continue to add my add my 2-cents on this site.

Sincerely,

Gent68
