Non-Compliant Patient?

Question

So I went in to the VAMC today to talk to my doctor. The person at the computer took my card, looked at the computer screen, then as he was filling out the consult form he put this in the upper left side -- N -- , then the name of my doctor after that. It seemed like the very first thing that the form told anyone that saw it was the -- N --.

Now, my doctors first name is Samah, there isnt an N in his first or last name. And my first or last name does not start with an N either. Also, the care group is Group 2, not A or B or any other letter.

Could this be a designation that I am a "non-compliant patient"?

Who knows. I would just call and ask what it means, after all as LarryJ pointed out they can't eat you, that's illegal :)

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.

maybe the N stands for nutjob you have to ask guessing only leads to bad assumptions the desk clerk does not have to annotate a file for non compliants when the doc opens your treatment record it will be tere for them to see every doctor I see at the VA opens my treatment notes did you go in at Noon maybe the N stood for noon

I think it is initials. Or just a case of Paranoia.

It will be OK.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.
