HvyGns38
I know you file for TDIU, but do you file any paperwork for P&T or is that just determined by the VA? Thank you!!
Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted November 3, 2010 Moderator Share Posted November 3, 2010 You have to file for it, and submit evidence that you cannot work, past employment records (sometimes), nexus statements from psych or physical doctor, etc. The Earth is degenerating these days. HadIt.com Elder Philip Rogers Posted November 3, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 3, 2010 You can file for P&T. I'd suggest doing it otherwise you might never get it, especially if you wait for the VA to do it. jmo pr I know you file for TDIU, but do you file any paperwork for P&T or is that just determined by the VA? Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted November 3, 2010 Moderator Share Posted November 3, 2010 What do you mean by file number? You submit a claim form and request IU, and then make sure you have your evidence squared away. Other than the evidence having to show unemployability, its the same as any other claim. carlie
Does anyone happen to know the file number for that? If you're wanting the Form number for IU, use 21-8940. There is no specific form for requesting P&T that I know of but you can submit your request for P&T on a 21-4138 if you would like to. Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed. HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted November 3, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 3, 2010 When you file for IU you want your medical evidence to say you are permanently and totally disabled. This is what the VA wants to hear for P&T. If you get IU, but are denied Chapter 35 (P&T) you can file an appeal and ask for it. This is what I did. You need evidence to show you are P&T unless you want to wait for the VA to make that determination. You can grow old and die waiting for the VA to do what they are supposed to do.
