stillhere
anyone put in a claim for ihd or related to diabetes 2? if so have you heard anything back yet. I filed back in 05 for heart disease secondary to DM2 and was granted CAD secondary to my DM2. This is a pretty simple one to get connected IF you have the DM2 first! treysnonna
at my husbands cp he told them he was filing heart problems secondary to dm2, but when we got the paper work back from va the cp examiner had it down as ihd, so we are waiting to see what happens with it. he also had my husband down as a marine, my husband was Navy/uscg. he was in vietnam when he was with the navy. why would the ------ examiner put him down as a marine? go figure! HadIt.com Elder jbasser Posted November 23, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 23, 2010 If he can prove boots on ground in Vietnam thenhe doesnt need to secondary connect the heart disease. It wll be a direct SC. That would be your best bet as long as he doesnt have Aortic Stenosis or Valve issues and no cad. If ha has cad, then I see a win. Berta
jbasser is right!~ If found medically as secondary to DMII due to AO and is CAD or IHD-they will service connect it unless there is somehow some other etiology for his heart disease or the heart disease came before the DMII diagnosis. Berta
PS -the aortic problem could possibly be due to and secondary to his heart disease as well-but VA will be looking at any EKGs,ECHO results and METS results to determine the heart disease rating.
