Scott,

Also, now that you have reached 30 percent or higher SC, you are eligible

for dependent compensation.

If you have dependents you need to fill out, sign and submit a VA form 21-686c

along with any additional documentation the form requests.

Here's a link:

http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-21-686c-ARE.pdf

You may also be eligible for some additional state benefits - so check that out too.

Congratulations Scott!

In addition to Carlie's advice, you might want to also check with your VAMC's business office to see if you were billed co-pays for visits or medication to treat any newly SC conditions. They should refund those costs back to your EED.

Thanks Vync and Carlie for your advice on dependent compensation and co-pays for meds. I have notified and filed the paperwork. I was wondering how long it should take to review the meds and get reimbursed. Also, how long has it been taking Vets to get the back pay on dependent compensation??

Thanks to all at hadit.com for the precious wisdom that I have found here. I need to stay on top of hadit more, but with working 70 plus hours a week it is hard just to manage my day to day routine. I guess maybe I should have studied more when I was a kid. I probably would not be driving a truck now!

Thanks everyone at hadit.com
