Champva Copays With Drug Stores

Most of us that have ChampVA get meds at drug stores and pay the copays and are done on the spot. My wife gets a formulated prescription that is 2 or more combined prescriptions assembled at the drug store for her. Not many drugs stores even do it anymore.

For over five years I have had to send them in and get reimbursed later.

So I called ChampVA a month ago and asked was there anyway to do it the same way we did all her other prescriptions and the guy said yes have them call a number and get a code for it/

Bottom line I was paying 94 dollars and sending in occasionally and being reimbursed 70.50 but yesterday we did the drill and my copay was 15.64 or a total of 62.56. This means we saved over 32 dollars using VA prices instead of paying up front.

So if you are paying and mailing in your paperwork it is costing you about a third more.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
