A Rant For Today

Question

SHEEEEEEET.

Another C&P tomorrow !

Good in a way for me - because it is due to remand instructions from the BVA.

Bad for me in a way - that I have to compile evidence for the examiner

that the examiner will more likely than not - miss, if they even bother to attempt

going COMPLETELY through the seven volumes of my c-file, along with VAMC

treatment records and progress notes, plus evidence submitted from my Vet Center

therapist's and an IMO from several years back.

I sure hope I have been able to help some VBA claimants here at hadit in the past -

because when it comes to my own claim issues - most times - I turn into a SHEEEEEEET head -

work like a mad woman, compiling everything, spend countless hours going in circles -

and then finally end up at a copy machine with only an hour to spare before arriving for the C&P.

Then - there is no way to even know before hand if the examiner will ALLOW you to leave

them copies of what you want to be sure they see and hopefully read.

I need food - I need a massage - I need someone with a brain and good computer skills to help

keep me focused so I can organize all of this.

I freaking need a life that is not incumbent on financial benefits from the VBA.

Anyone out there have the winning numbers for next Saturday's Lotto or Powerball ? : - )

Last night a very dear friend helped me get me and my stuff together

and get through the night.

I slept worse than usual, woke up quite a few times.

Was at FedX copy place 7:00 am - pouring down rain, then to the VAMC,

luckily found a parking space and attended C&P exam.

The C&P examiner came into the waiting room and called my name -

(This morning I wound up doing exactly what I suggest to other's to NOT DO !)

I did not hear him call me because I was rushed this morning and did NOT put in

my hearing aid.

He introduced himself to my partner thinking she was the veteran, then realized I was

turned and introduced himself to me, told my partner we wouldn't be long and that there

was a coffee shop right down the hallway if she would like to get a cup.

The C&P examiner declined to look over or accept any evidence that I had

brought a copy to leave with him.

He stated none of that was necessary, that he had thoroughly reviewed my

C-file and medical evidence - that I should not have had to suffer through what I

have had to and should have been compensated much sooner without it taking

a remand from Washington.

He stated today's issue is very well supported.

He stated that there was no need to do any further medical or psychological testing.

He stated that I will go to my mailbox, in the not too distant future, and receive

a Rating Decision that grants SC for today's issue, that I will be compensated

at the 100 percent level and he said I promise you this.

We discussed some ways I could be there more for my 7 year old grand-daughter

that might help me with additional guilt feelings I haven't been handling well.

This C&P examiner was also assigned to a RVN buddy (I did his re-opened claim)

that was finally awarded SC for PTSD - evaluated at 50 percent.

(2 tour combat vet, Quad 50 convoy gunner, LAD attached to the 173rd, ANE KHE pass

and many other BOG areas).

This examiner is either an angel or one heck of a story weaver.

Thanks to all that have responded with good thoughts, encouragement and confidence,

it means so very much at a time like this.

Carlie,

Here's hoping that the examiner is indeed an angel and that you get the rating you deserve. Now that the C&P is over, step away for a bit and concentrate on being there for that precious grand-daughter the way you are always here for your fellow vets. Best wishes and GOD BLESS.

Colt,

The C&P examiner doesn't have to accept anything from the claimant.

Thanks for the Good luck.

I have absolutely no desires to "stick it to the man", I just want to be compensated

as provided in the 38 CFR regs, in relation to my medical evidence.

I feel sure you did not intend that in a bad way.

Hehe, you are correct. I didn't intend for it to come across bad at all. Rather that you had the information you needed to fight for what you deserved. Sticking it to them seemed like a good enough adage that was more than adequate for the situation.

"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" or "The man, stick it to him" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either openly or via sabotage.

I, of course, was only suggesting the fighting back route with information and not via the sabotage. Lol. It was my way of saying... "break a leg". However, I could also understand how that could be construed as bad and apologize if it seemed that I was suggesting otherwise.

I'm so glad to hear of the news of your newest C&P examiner. It's nice to know that there are people out there that truly do care what people receive and when they have a hand in giving them what they deserve; they utilize it.

Sounds like another trip to Mcdonalds. This time for the C and P department.

Good One Carlie.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.
