Question

Been reading a little and it looks like we may get at least a 3.5% COLA this year. I guess the amount will be decided on 10/19 and then we will see if this Congress actually makes a decision on it. Don't want to get everyone's hopes up, but some good news on a COLA would be nice after a couple of years of no COLA.

We kept our promise and served honorably. Now it is time for the VA to keep their's!

I am not an attorney or VSO and offer my opinions free of charge. Any advice I provide in my posts is from experiences I have had with the VA or I have the knowledge that others have encoutered. I accept no liability for this advice should you chose to follow it.

It will be nice, yes, but while some people's costs are up, most costs are down for consumer goods, and that is the value that is tied to COLA for the last several years. If prices are down, there is no need for a COLA, either. Prices are adjusting back up now, and more people are buying, so now there is the possibility of a COLA.

(I AM NOT A RATER- I work the claims BEFORE they are rated, annotating medical evidence in your records, VA and Legal documents,  and DA/DD forms- basically a paralegal/vso/etc except that I also evaluate your records based on Caluza and try to justify and schedule the exams that you go to based on whether or not your records have enough in them to warrant those)

When you bring up a COLA thread please start with a source that shows the amount. Right now it is probably alraight to discuss it but it has been a problem on this Board in the past with rehashing old news like we all know that Congress enacts legislation every year to tie our COLA to same as Social Security.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

Beats nothing. Hope it is reality.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.
