Question

if a veteran is 100% P and T scheduler

and then on top of that is rated for loss of use of one hand one eye, has ed and spinal both lumbar and cervical injuries

does the VA then have to consider SMC O/P or must the veteran request SMC O/P

would that veteran be eligible for O and P

thank you for your response

They should consider it but the way the VA works a Veteran has to ask.

Good Luck

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

SMC K should be automatic for loss of use of a hand or eye, and ed.... as to back injuries, unless you are unable to walk, and unless you are housebound or need Aid & attendance you won't get any SMC's for a back injury..With the one exception if you are rated 100% for one medical issue and 60% for another medical issue then housebound is granted automatically... buit remember the va doesn't always grant automatically sometimes you have to fight to get what your entitled too. SMC O/P would be very hard to get unless you have some very serious issues., such as multiple loss of use of arms and/or legs......
