any idea if the bva has made it to 2012 decisions yet .or where they stand on the back log.

IMO - they haven't even began to touch any appeals just submitted in 2012.

just curious if there was a way to know where they stood ,2011 claims or are they in 2010 claims. hard to tell from bva site

My BVA claim is docketed in 2009 and not finished yet. A VSO, who was apparently familiar with it, told me that the BVA is currently deciding claims docketed in 2009. So, if yours is docketed in 2012, I will speculate you have a 3-4 year wait, since the backlog continues to get worse each month.

Remember, tho, even if you filed a NOD in 2009, does not necessarily mean yours will be docketed by the BVA in 2009. Far from it. Your RO can "sit" on it for months, or even years, before they send it to the BVA. Finally, your VSO can sit on it, too. My VSO "sat" on my BVA claim for 13 months, according to ebenefits, and what the VSO told me.

I asked the VSO if the time, which on ebenefits says, "with VSO" counts toward my time..he did not answer, but became defensive.

If you have an "advance on the docket" you could get your BVA decision sooner.

I would guess nothing will be done, at earliest, until Jan 2013 and probably more like June 2013. jmo
