ptsd Claim For Pstd Still In

Filed my Initial claim for PTSD and Spinal back in Feb 2012. My claim is still in "Under Review" Is this normal? I have had no contact from the VA other than the initial letter saying they had received my claim back In March of 2012. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Unfortunately this timeframe is quite normal.

Try to find a hobby to help pass the time.

It can easily be another year before you hear anything further

or you could receive some notice next week stating you have a C&P exam scheduled

at XXX on XX/XX/XXXX at 00:00 hrs.

There is still a huge backlog so just live the best you can while you are

waiting on some VBA resolve.

Are you receiving therapy for your conditions ?

If not - I suggest you begin doing so in your own best interest.

Did you receive a VCAA letter yet?

Sorry I dont know what a VCAA letter is I am really clueless about all of this as I never really envisioned putting a claim into the VA. I just figured I would soldier on. My wife however has opened my eyes into how this PTSD is affecting the whole family. I could go on and on about it but I know you all get what I am saying i think. so my claim being in " Under review for over a year is normal. Wow..

patrick815, Hang in there, seek treatment, it might take a while, everyone wait time is different as I have notice, but I don't know why? Just remember there are people who care for us. I do.
