Will A New Claim Delay A Bva Timeline For Existing Claim?

Rate this question

Question

Thank you in advance.

I have an existing claim (back problems) that has been open and progressing through the system for about 3 yrs. I am scheduled to the BVA level next. I am nerve wracked.

I have found evidence in my military medical records of a PTSD diagnosis along with a Stress Anxiety disorder.

If I file a claim for psychological issue's, will this delay anything on the current claim.

I am scared to death of anything messing up the current claim as I'm sure you all can understand after four yrs. with no income.

Juan: Just tuned in and was trying to get a grip on your BVA question posted 11/2014. I sure hope you didn't set on a possible PTSD Filing in 2013. A Big $$ mistake if you did. So many Vets are worried about holding up the progress of their existing claims and appeals. and end up loosing sizable potential Retro payments. I've believe in filing as soon as you think you have a SC condition, on your E-Ben site to preserve the filing date. You have 364 days from when you start to complete the claim but the date is locked. As far as it slowing any of your other claims or appeals, it hasn't slowed any of mine. It certainly won't affect your BVA Appeal and if you had another "New" claim pending it would be added to that claim as another issue. Go to ASKNOD.com and research your issues. See what he has to say regarding VA Comp Rules and Regs. He may cover a topic that has your name on it.

Just remember the final decision is yours and only yours. There is great info available on Hadit-StatesideLegal-VAWatchdog & AskNod. Just remember, your reading personal opinions and interpretations of VA Regs that must be verified before you take it to the BANK. Trust but Verify EVERYTHING! Nobody is as concerned or as knowledgeable regarding your claim as you.
