A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

This along with other VA locations dictating what songs may be sung is getting way out of hand. How about the fact that most or maybe all veterans would see this as what it really is, a display of apprecation from children who are trying to make their day better? I would even be willing to bet there would be a few with tears in their eyes seeing the children and the expressions on their faces and emotions in their eyes. I doupt anyone would complian about any of this.

I sorta disagree. I believed in God before I went to VN, in 1965. After removing 26 bodies off a Chinook, from the Ia Drang battle (We Were Soldiers Once), I sorta lost that belief, which was reinforced over the next 21 month in-country. Since then, my views have been reinforced in my non-belief, based on facts. I wish I could believe but all evidence says "no."

Most Christians I've run into are very little tolerance for others or non-believers.

Even here. Many state "God bless," or "may Jesus be w/you," or something of that sort. I chose not to express my thoughts, as many of you intolerant peoples would jump in my stuff. The USA was built of freedom of religion, or non-religion and the freedom of speech.

Enough said. I wish all of you a happy holiday, whatever you celebrate!

That part is correct PR...But IMHO, society has become obsessed with being so politically correct that things get taken to the extreme at the expense of others. They could have accepted the kid's cards, set them on a table, and told the veterans they were free to take one if they were interrested. Instead, they reject a well intended gift and feelings get hurt.

There is a group in the local "public" grade school called "The Patriots Club". They take a picture of themselves and send me a card every Veterans day thanking me for being a Veteran for about the last 5 years.

Just waiting until some PC jerk finds out about this and threatens these little do-gooders...

Merry Christmas
