100% Retro Held Almost A Year Now

Gotta go with the Warrant's answer! My first retro took about a year, but that's mainly because the connection between the Coast Guard and the VA isn't quite like the DFAS-to-VA link. My retired pay audit took three tries to get it received properly by the VA...plus some behind the scenes assist from my pay specialist.

IF you're retired, then I recommend starting with DFAS to see where your pay audit is and how long go it was sent.

IF you're not retired, I recommend going VFR direct to the RO via IRIS as Kelly suggested. That is, unless you have a VSO.

Now, if you have a VSO, you need to get after those shirkers first. You may have to causually explain that their duty to assist under the POA extends beyond dropping off forms and records upstairs...

I just recently got my 100% on April 20th 2014 and I haven't received my retro pay as well. At the same time that I received my packet explaining my increase from 50 to a 100% I also got a letter stating i needed to turn in this form stating how many drill days I had for the fiscal year of 2012. My last 2 years of service I did in the guard. But I wasn't getting any drill pay during this time. Can this be why I haven't received my retro pay? Can somebody please help. I can't get a straight answer from the 1800#. I just had a baby and times are tough right now. Thank you!

How old is your claim? Are you retired? If your claim is old and I mean over 2 years you can 202-273-7453. That is the office of communication and case management. You may get a nice surprise.

Hey boomer. No I'm not retired and my claim was complete in 8 months. I did 10 years total. I called the debt management number and they said I don't owe any debt so I'm just confused as to why I haven't received my retro pay. And it's set up for direct deposit so I'm not waiting on the snail mail

Sorry boomer I thought that was to me. My bad

My retro came in two installments. The first took from July'13 (claim closed) check received Dec 24th '13...Great Christmas. The next installment came after the DFAS audit completed and that came in March '14. I may still have more depending on the outcome of retro time and percentage. I had been fighting that claim for 20 plus years. They rated it 60% from the time I reopened the claim in 2011. Then rated me 0 % for the years prior to that date, then opened a new claim the same date they closed the first one under administrative review for an increase in percentage. It has been sitting in gathering dust since that time. The only thing they requested for evidence was my hospital records here at the Military Hospital which they show received about 10 days later. Nothing else requested, nothing else sent, nothing else received. Just sitting there...So it remains a mystery.....
