diabetes Diabetic Shoes

Hi,

Does anyone know how to request diabetic shoes? It's been over a year since my husband got a pair of SAS shoes from the VA for his diabetes. He told his knew primary care dr., and she said he would have to go to podiatry clinic. He called the TAP line, and left message for the podiatrists that got him the last pair, and they called back and said he needed to talk to his primary care dr.

I think we're in a continous loop!

Don you are 100% they have to give you shoes if you need them.

The VA foot doctor had them ordered for me. Do you see the POD at the VA?

Thanks everyone for your response. He got called today from the Pod. Clinic to come there and they ordered his shoes and gave him socks as well.

They said that since it had been over a year, that was why he had to go back to the clinic. If he calls next year before the 1 year is up, all they'll have to do is put it in the system and he want have to see anyone.
