Ebenefits Authorization Review?

Rate this question

green

Question

I'm looking through Ebenefits and I clicked on the Compensation and Pension Caim Status as I was trying to familiarize myself with the system and to my surprise there is a entry under historical claims that is titled "Authorization Review". I have no idea what this is and whatever it is I certainly didn't initiate it. Does anyone have an idea of what this is?

Thank you,

Green

Green:NFC! With that said, you haven't done anything since before 2012, request a FOIA on your C-File. In a year or so, maybe less, you might see what it was. At any rate, you should get a copy of your C-file anyway.

I've been a disabled vet since 1983, filed a claim for reevaluation in 1994 but haven't done anything since that point. I'm preparing to submit for secondary conditions. I don't know what a "C-file" is.

Thank you for your help.

Green,

"The C-File contains service records, service medical records, post-service treatment records, VA correspondence (with you and internal to the VA), C&P Exam Request letters, C&P Exam Opinions, and the VA's legal documents like your NOD, VA Form 9, etc." http://www.attiglawfirm.com/shoot/how-to-get-your-va-c-file/

I think it'd be good to first find out what your status is relating to claims. You can try the IRIS inquiry I mentioned above AND call the VA 1-800-827-1000 (If they can't tell you much over the phone, ask to have claims info mailed to you).

You can also contact a VSO - Veteran Service Officer like the American Legion, VFW etc but they will require you to sign a Power of Attorney where they represent you before the VA. This might be okay if you don't feel up to doing a lot of research here and elsewhere but many of us prefer to handle our own claims.

Thank you Kelly, If this only pertains to VA Regional Offices, I don't believe they would have anything since my last rating in 1994.
