I believe you Buck, I sent in a request to change my date of award in VA electronic systems as it was saying 2007 instead of 1994. I received a canned response such as those provided above. I immediately sent a message back stating that wasn't acceptable and pointed out that their data was in error. Next thing I know, I got a call. After I explained the situation, the individual gave me his email and I PDF'd him copies of my decision letter and supporting documentation. He later emailed me back and told me the information had been provided to the folks that review such things. I haven't seen a change yet but it has only been a few days since we discussed the issue and I provided the documentation.

IRIS and Ebenefits have turned into more Peggys.

Do not hesitate to file an IRIS compliant in the pop down IRIS menu regarding complaints.

VA Central office gets copies of these complaints. The VAROs hate them.

One of my IRIS complaints contained a CUE claim against them . I got a call from VA Central and it was resolved in about 3 weeks..

The issue was a decision on my AO IHD claim regarding my deceased husband.

It said the veteran's SMRs do not reflect evidence of heart disease and verified his combat service in Vietnam.but denied the Nehmer claim.

That was mid December 2011. VA reversed by award in early January 2012, awarding the AO IHD claim as well as 2 other pending CUES I had.

For some reason I called Peggy ( the 800 # ) days before the January 2012 decision arrived for a status. and the 800 operator was so confused that she told me more then she should have.

She said the AO IHD claim was denied In late December 2011, but that the same claim was awarded on January 12th,2012 , a few weeks later.....She said "I dont get this"

I said "That;'s OK, I do." A day or so later I got the award letter.

This was a few years ago and the VA has become more screwed up than ever before so a IRIS complaint these days an IRIS complaint may or may not do any good at all.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
