Clothing Allowance

Rate this question

Question

Hey there;

First time for me filing for clothing allowance and I did so back in late May/early June.  I stopped by the Prosthetics department and although they can't say for sure, they told me it was good news and that I would be getting a letter.  I still haven't received a letter of approval or denial.  Do you get one?  If you are approved when are the payments disbursed?

TIA

Clothing allowance starts hitting the banks around the 23 of August. Most get a letter, until the Prosthetic's Dept states that you are Static, then everything is in auto drive yearly.  There have been several here that have had to play the game yearly to continue this benefit.

Do yourself a favor.....buy some gold and silver! The printing presses are in overdrive.

How do you know if you become static or non-static for clothing allowance?

@seminoles I got one also but I'm not sure I qualify either, I have wraps for my legs due to lymphedema but it's new to me, would they give me a clothing allowance to buy wraps and compression socks?

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.

Wouldn't it be nice if the VA actually made it clear and not so dang vague?  I have wrist braces, a walker, creams for this and that, I wear diapers and pads (that they know do not work and i have accidents which then lead to ruining clothing), etc. so who the heck knows what qualifies and what bean counter decides?   ;)
