ED due to MST

Rate this question

Andyman73

Question

Recently I was DX and granted SCD for PTSD due to personal trauma (MST). I have also noticed a dramatic reduction in performance capabilities as well. I have not mentioned this to any of my doctors, VA or private. It's been hard enough to admit to the MST, without having to add the ED to it. But I've reached a point where I can no longer ignore it.  I'm only 44 years old and have far too much life left to live to continue ignoring the ED. I'd like to hear any suggestions or guidance as to the best way to file a claim for this as secondary to my SCD PTSD. Any and all suggestions from all parties are welcome. Also, should I start with making an appointment with my PCP?  Thank you to all who read and respond to this delicate and humbling matter.

Women can also apply for this too - This link is older - but I called the Senator's office and they emailed me the most updated info and forms for Women to apply for Female Sexual Arousal Disorder.  Info is in the article.

L, not only do I agree with you, but I think it's time women got their due in all aspects of life.

Well if your seperated from your spouse  that is another (in part)  reason to file the claim,  not sure how you would  get Qualified Dr to opine the psychological effects of E.D. but it can happen but usually not all the time ,I know alcohol can contribute to E.D.

when I use to drink a lot I could not perform,(& not drunk) but I stopped drinking years ago, and I had no problems , it was when I started taking the PTSD Meds and the E.D. started up again.

''Personally Speaking'' (For the weak minds ) you may not want to read this below just to for-warn ya!

If the viagra or the pills don't help

They have injections you can get from your urology Doc. (Alprostadil) you have to take a class and they show you how to inject the medicine into your penis , it stings a little but you get use to it,  they start you on 10 mg and if that don't help they go to 20 mg...and all the way up to 40 mg ,the needles are kinda like the diabetic insulin injections.

I take the 20 mg  the 10 mg did nothing for me   so the Doc increased it to the 20mg. and that helped...the only thing is for me it ruins the mood for me and very inconvenient , you take the injections about 1 hour before the actual sex.

The injections come in a packets of two, I get three packets per month.

I'd never thought I'd ever have this problem  when I was younger/I guess age plays a big part  but my urology Doc says thats not so.

These can be very dangerous  if erection last to long you will need to go see the Dr or Get Emergency Room.

so far I never had that problem.  just kills the mood for me  and my spouse has become disabled with osteoporosis in her Back and takes the steroid injections and that has caused her neurorrhaphy problems....''When it Rains it Pours''

YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH YOUR E.D. CLAIM.

They will S.C. AT 0 % but you get about 103.50 month extra on top of what you already get.

they just add that in.

If any U.S. Veteran (Male or Female) has the E.D. Problem and can get it Service connected  by Injury ,MST or PTSD Medications or by other means  defitneately file your claim.

Just remember E.D. can be a secondary condition to  many different conditions , you need to ask your Doc about that.
