It means that the VA is still working on your claim. They have to find additional evidence/consider what evidence they currently have (maybe from the C&P), get additional medical opinion, etc. It's the VA's way of telling you nothing but making you think they are working on your claim. Relax; could take a while. Or not.

It means that at least some piece of evidence is pending, so a decision can not be rendered until its received.  

You dont know what that evidence is.  It could be:

1.  A CV of the examiner to demonstrate his compentency.  

2.  A statement by the examiner to clarify an opinion that was unclear.  

3.  Evidence pertaining to other Caluza elements.

4.  Evidence in reference to your discharge, your eligibility, or pretty much any other evidence the VA considers probative that is missing or unclear.
