Question

I sat down and typed this out and tried to put down everything that is bothering me. Would you guys mind taking a look at it and giving me some feedback. I tried not to ramble and make it all jumbled but I just have so much going through my head right now.

Thank you for any feedback and criticism

Buck, he did have a C & P exam , I just found it under search and it went very well.

Actually, that exam was before I had filed the claim. That exam confirmed to me which I needed to make sure that this was not all in my head. That's what made me go ahead and file the claim. I don't know if they will use that as my C&P though, as of today, exactly one month from my file date, they have only scheduled a hearing loss C&P.

They have not scheduled one for sleep apnea, nor PTSD.

Other odd thing, is on myhealthevet, under upcoming appointments, the hearing C&P does not show up as a future appointment, nor have I gotten a letter or any kind of correspondence about it. If I had not hung up and immediately put it in my calendar, I would have forgotten about it by now for sure. Not saying they want me to forget, but they sure aren't reminding me like they do of everything else with weekly postcards and texts and calls etc

I think its a fair assumption of his statment of case  just be sure and go back an re read things  because you don't want to  be speculating on any medical problems

I s there a particular thing that I said that made you say this? I have one shot at this so I want to make sure it is right. I can certainly edit the statement if need be.

I keep thinking I should remove the last statement, that PTSD is ruining my life. I don't want to sound too dramatic.

USAF9498, regarding your comment that the hearing C&P doesn't show up as a scheduled posting; if it is with a contractor, it more than likely is a misconnect between the VA and them. The contractor might not have advised the schedule. It could be a smart thing to re-confirm a few days before about it though. Now, if the exam is to be at a VA facility, then I would find out why for sure. You do not want to mis a C&P exam if at all possible. If you have to, get "permission" and ask them to confirm the new schedule (ex. email, name of contact, etc.) Good luck on all.

Well we never know how these raters moods are going to be when they read about our claims  we just never know how they ''might read'' in to something that we other wise would not

you mention ''I immediately had a ringing in both ears after the bomb concussion, which has never gone away, nor gotten better. I know now that it is Tinnitus. I have hearing loss in both ears, with being more severe in my right ear. I had an appointment with the VA Audiologist and was prescribed a hearing aid for my right ear. Once back stateside, I had trouble sleeping through the night and would wake up several times a night. I would wake up gasping for air and choking. I never saw a military doctor because I didn't understand that it was a life threatening condition. In 2012, I finally got a sleep study done and was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and prescribed a CPAP. I use it every night and can not sleep without it.

This is just speculation  it would be better to ask a Qualified Dr if the Bombing (loud noise was or the cause  and related to my hearing loss? this is known as bilaterally  noised induced hearing loss  that caused damage to your inner ears ''see my audiologist report on date***** and say things like  see Dr's reports about my now known tinnitus  as I know it as  tinnitus. the constant ringing in my head  .. all this needs to  come from an impression /opinion from qualified Medical Dr  then they can't turn it against you and say your only speculating...but some raters  will accept what you wrote  we just never know?

same thing for the sleep apnea..you need a Qualified Dr or sleep specialist to opine his rational  and nexus the the sleep apnea to your military service  or the medications you take  especially if you never had an sleep disturbance reported while in the military .

we need these conditions nexus to our military service   and a Dr will nee to do that  we can't do that or speculate in anyway.

if you use a C-pap The Dr needs to have examine you and read your medical records that pertain to your sleep disturbance and say something like  I have read this veterans records and have examine him and it is my professional opinion his sleep disturbance'' is likely as not'' related /caused by his military service his Prescribe C-Pap machine is medically necessary  to use  or something along these lines.

but what you have written out may fly?  I just caught this when I read your statement in support of your claim.

Not sure what you mean by this

was this exam from your military exit?  or ETS?  Was you medically discharged?

This is the only way I know a veteran would be getting an exam like this  is at his discharge or ETS.  its called a separation medical exam.

if he never filed a compensation claim?

This exam was done a little over a month ago at the advice of mental health at the VA. It was done at my local VA clinic.

It is at the same VA Audiology clinic here in Kansas City as I had my hearing exam done at a month ago. In fact, it is 0730 day after tomorrow, and I go back the next afternoon to get my hearing aid
