C and P notice

Rate this question

Question

Does a text message constitute a notification by the VA for a  c and p exam.   I m going out of the country for 5 months and would like to park my cell phone number with Number Barn and they  only offer  text messaging while parked,   Will the VA also mail an  exam notification to my attorney?  There is a small chance that I will be notified for an exam but I would like to  plan for it if it does happen.  I remember once years ago, the VA called me for a c and p exam which was in three days.   Short timeframe and no written notice.

Any ideas or comments

Some times a C&P is not warranted. or needed.

but if you expect a C&P  it is  best to stay in country or close to your VARO  or medical center until you have the C&P...Missing a C&P usually results in a denial.

here is what VA Says.

Since I refuse to use a cell Phone ( yea old school) I never even knew you could get a text message from the VA... but I do know that the VA schedules C/P exams rather quickly now,  either they use a contractor or do the exam at a VA Medical Center.... I would stick close to the phone or watch the mail, because while the VA isn't likely to call you ,   a contractor will.
