Carl the Engineer
Good for you, hope it helps your case(s). I got mine, paper in 2012, and again, CD in 2017. I am going to request mine again when my new claims are complete. If you could let us know if they have cleaned up the format since I got mine. My last copy on CD is in no order and has many duplicates. It actually looks like they just kept putting the latest papers on top, etc... Anyway, good luck, Hamslice Buck52
Moderator broncovet Posted February 12, 2021 Moderator Share Posted February 12, 2021 VA does not want us informed with a cfile. EVEN when you get your cfile, its out of date by the time you receive it. Its like taking a picture of your clock, and mailing it to someone who asks the time. The VBMS file, now called the efile, is vastly superior, because its in real time. EACH day millions of documents are added, and, in spite of what they tell you, items from our cfile are sitll deleted. If they never deleted "anything" our cfile could easily become a wild beast, that would take years to go through. Duplicates, and "true" unnecessary information should be deleted. The problem with that is that your opponent at law "has control" over your records, and its just too tempting for them to "accidently" put one of your documents in another vets file, hit delete "accidently" or shred the paper copy. Now, at least one person says that evidence "can not" be deleted. That is not true. While a junior rating specialist may not be given permissions to delete stuff, "somebody" has those permissions, even if its only the VARO director. (There are probably more people than just the director who have "full permission" on your file, read or write.) You see, if you have "read only" then you can see the file, but cant write anything. If you have read and write, then you can also delete stuff, because, you may be typing and typrite a werd wrong. You need to be able to correct your mistakes. Now, they can also set it up where certain files are "file protected" that it takes an administrator to delete them. But there is always someone who can delete files. Administrators have to "clean up" junk files that accumulate or the computer data would get so large that its unmanageable. Most of us have "administrative" priveleges over our own computer, but probably not if you are in a library or its a work computer. Administrate priveledges are "full and unrestricted" so they can add, delete files, add, delete or update software. Its just not possible "no one" can ever delete anything from your records. One or more supervisors has to have admin priveledges. Buck52
HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted February 12, 2021 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted February 12, 2021 I know they can delete things from our c-file they did mine..I have some records that is not in my c-file and they should be, I also need a record that is not in my c-file and it should be. The only thing bout this is if you say it was in your c-file to prove a claim and they can't conveniently find it and its what you need to prove your claim...yep denied. I filed for IU in 2000 and was awarded IU in 2003 so I want my EED to go back to at least 2000..well without this form I am dead in the water for a EED. Oh I do have the front page of the IU App but the date is on the second page which I can't find and it should be in my C-file or E-File I could possibly check with a attorney or claims agent or even the VBA =VSO who have access to the VBMS but with covid going on they are dyning me they say there VBMS is down and with covid going on they do not take veterans in for claims at this time anyway that's what the lady clerk told me at my VAMC VBA Office. So without evidence and that record is gold evidence I am dead in the water.

Thats great you got the IU P&T I Did too but want a better EED. FILED IN 2000 awarded in 2003 paid from Dec 2002 to May 2003 about 6 months retro and it should been almost 3 years of retro. but the evidence I need on record for the 2000 date is not in my c-file and I don't have it...I have the first page but the first page don't have the date the second page has the date but its missing. Its a good Ideal to put the dates on each page for this very reason.
