My last day at work was June 25,2007. I applied for SSDI on July 25,2007.

I called the State Disablility Determination Services on Sept 12,2007. I spoke to the evaluator (DDS) and told me that he and a Physician has made their decision.

I asked if it is a 50/50 chance of me getting my benefits. He said it's more than 50/50. I think that means that I'm approved. He said I'll be receving a letter. (God willing an approval letter) in 1 to 2 weeks. I keep you posted.

I received my SSD approval letter on Oct.6,2007.

I will receive my 1st direct deposit on Jan 16,2008. It will be for December 2007. (July,Aug,Sept,Oct,Nov) after 5 months waiting period.

Disability Determination Services were very helpful. Especially a name I will not mention!!

I will submitt my award letter to the VA. I filed for TDIU in July 2007 and it is still being reveiwed. Submitting my SSD approval letter to VA will provide more power to me. :) ;)

a lot of people think the SSA denies all the claims and then like the VA approve people after they file appeals, in reality it comes down to the book do YOUR medical disabilities meet the guidelines to be approved or do you have a lot of multiple issues that when combined make you unemployable, or given that psychiatric disgnosis are a subjective determination they want their own shrinks to evaluate how severe it is....there are a lot of considerations into SSD awards severity of illness/condition, age, level of education what are your chances of getting better some people go on the 3 year review plan and others who are not expected to get better or improve get the 7 year plan

me I am on the 7 year plan due to the severity of my heart disease, works for me between the cardiovascular problems, COPD, 3 herniated disks, and PTSD rated 100% I doubt I ever will or want to go back to work lol I am just trying to enjoy my retirement to the best of my ability, my goal was not to be in a power chair yelling at a TV for entertainment in my old age rofl

I applied March 06, turned down oct 06 while I was in pysch ward. Hired a lawyer and am waiting for ALJ Hearing. I wrote the SSA a letter week before last and asked them was I in the wounded warrior program if not why not.

Have not heard anything from them yet. Also requested a CDROM when I got my ALJ letter they said my file is electronic and I can get a copy and review it.

Look at top right corner paragraph
