Question

I have been waiting 445 since my direct review appeal was placed on the docket.

Currently, bva metrics says it’s taking 375 days as of Aug 7, 2022.

Has anyone had a recent direct review appeal that has taken more than 445 days, and can anyone other veteran share their BVA experience.

I've had a docket number for 973 days and still waiting to be assigned to a judge.  Their "average" time is BS and nothing more.

True, but that does not always mean the Veteran should sit on their hands and do nothing.  There is one or more glitches somewhere, and these glitches have a habit of remaining unresolved until after the Veteran dies, and it often does not matter then.

I suggest one or more of the following, probably in this order:

1.  Send an IRIS email inquiring the status.

2.  Call the 1-800 number and ask peggy.

3.  Call your VSO or other rep, and ask them what VBMS shows the status is.  You may have to get a VSO with VBMS access for this to happen.  Ask them if they have it.

4.  Call the white house hotline.

5.  If you still have unsatisfactory results after you give the above ample time (say 1 month), then consider filing a writ of mandamus to compel va to adjuticate a 3 year old claim.
