The VA would still not grant me 100% for MH. I actually got 100% for neuropathy of arms and legs. Back in 1972 I was granted 10% for bipolar condition. Who ever heard of just a ten percent rating for bipolar? VA was just low balling mental health conditions in those days before PTSD. They would DX you with "personality disorder". You had to be a raving maniac to get 100% in those days. I don't think they even had a chronic pain DX. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That's what the DSM says. VA just follows it, unless there is some kind of direct pain causing manifestation like rheumatoid disorder, or it is subsumed by another physical diagnosis
