Question

Hypertension awarded 1/11/2023 Vietnam Vet. First filed in 2009 as secondary to diabetes ll.

Denied ,appeal, so on and so on.Then in 2015 filed again. This time secondary to diabetes and PTSD, deny, deny deny, so on and so on..Remanded,remanded,remanded so on and so on.

Finally awarded Hypertension due to diabetesll/Ptsd 1/11/23. What did I get 0% after 14 yrs.

They were not going to go back 14 yrs to reimburse me. It makes sense. This is how they are going to beat this presumption clause. Iam 90% tdui p/t. Dont know where to go from here. The state I live in only recognizes 100% pt to receive state benefits. It sucks!

If you are at 90, you need another 50.

I know a lot of us say that a veteran rated 90% needs an additional rating of 50% to be granted/awarded 100% schedular but it really depends on the breakdown of all the veteran’s ratings. I was rated 90% for about two years and my final rating of 40% got me my 100% schedular P & T rating. I think that even though I was rated at 90%, my breakdown actually had me sitting at/on 92%-93% and the VA rounded down to 90% but when they factored in the new 40% rating it took me over the 95% for the VA to round up. So, it really depends on the breakdown of the veteran’s ratings.

My intentions are to help, my advice maybe wrong, be your own advocate and know what is in your C-File and the 38 CFR that governs your disabilities and conditions.

Do your own homework. No one knows the veteran’s symptoms like the veteran. Never Give Up.

I do not give my consent for anyone to view my personal VA records.

Very true. Just depends on the breakdown. If you are at 85 to 90, you need 50. If you are at 93 to 94, 10 may get you there.

I am at 89 so I need 50.

I actually got 98% rounded up to a hundred.  I had an extra 80% but it still did not get me to actual 100%.  I think it is impossible to get to 100% unless you are awarded 100% for a single disability.  It is VA math at its finest.
