Sand Flea Bites And
Men and women-,many years ago here I posted a scenario I made up as to the VA claims process- I used a fictional scenario -I made it up- GW Vet gets bites by sand fleas in the desert, she develops residual disability from infections, etc-and finds as a veteran- she has basis of claim for service connection- I think the Spirits of my Indian ancestors give me these ideas-(I am serious) This email I just got from Colonel Dan is rather extraordinary- "PRESS RELEASE- IMMEDIATE RELEASE VA OWES A DUTY TO VETERAN’S FAMILY Army veteran Arvid Brown, while serving in Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War in 1991, was bitten by "sand flies" and contracted th…

More Likely Than Not..
I am trying to find the post that detailed the different verbage that pertains to a medical condition to connect it to SC. The verbage that the medical provider writes in the findings. I know there are 2 or 3 groups of words to say 100% it is SC, more than 50% and = to and less than 50 SC. I couldn't get the search feature to work. Thanks, jecsb4

So I Went To See My So Today...
I had received a SOC which addressed some of my issues and got a partial grant on appeal based on my NOD. Since, the SOC didn’t address the other issues, I decided to see my SO Rep (because they almost never return phone calls) whose office is in the same building as the VARO. I showed the SO some discrepancies and he looked on the PC and all of my issues did not have a disposition status code. So he decided to try and get my folder from the VARO. He leaves and comes back and say’s my folder is between appeals and awards. He stated that he could not locate my folder and could not press the VARO person who is suppose to have my folder because they were busy and then…

Presumptive Period
During my exit exam the doctor ( i knew this doctor better than most vets know the exit exam doctors ) told me that i had a mild case of prostatitis. He told me that if he wrote down that i had prostatitis that i wouldn't get out of the service on my due date. He went on to say that they will not release me until the problem cleared and that this kind of problem can persist a long time. He advised me to go to a VA hospital as soon as I got out; that i had a year to discover it and other problems that would be the same as if i was still in the army. He called it a presumptive period. He then Rx' some antibiotics and sulfer meds for me "for a cold" so the meds would work on…

10 Weeks For A C File Copy
I ve been waiting 6 weeks for a copy of my claims file from AMC, I called the AMC yesterday and was told that it will prolly take another 4 weeks before I get a copy. He kept repeating that there are others ahead of me waiting. Is there anything I can do to speed up this process or do I need to just hurryupnwait. 10 weeks seems like a long time when others on this forum were saying it would take 3 to 6 weeks. The AMC seems like a warehouse to hold remands. Last week was my 2nd anniversary with them. Paul

Have A Few Questions
My question being according to Neurology Now (An official publication of the American Academy of Neurology May/June 2007) people with Epilepsy suffer from uncontrolled depression. Can I apply for this? I am rated 100% T & P SC for the Epilepsy which was caused by 2 Shore Patrolmen & I in a bar in Japan in 1967 ( Sort of fuzzy what caused the commotion as I had been in bar a couple of hours) in which they beat me with their Batons & when I went down on the floor immediatly started stompping on me. Symptoms started showing up shortly after that.Luckily I had a Ship Mate in Bar with me that saw it happen & another friend saw me have a Tonic Clonic (…

Va & So Rep Can't Give Me A Status On My Claims
Pete53, Thank you for the advice. I agree. It seems that in my case, the one time I need to have the SO help me they are awol. He couldn't even give me advise about the secondary conditions the VA Dr. found to see if it was worth filling a claim. Anyway, I call the 1-800 # and was told that the file went to final authorization yesterday and I should receive something in 7-10 day's. I know that that is good news but even the 1800 rep could not give my any answer to what my various issues disposition is. Disposition is the word also used by my SO - he said that he could not see the disposition on his PC. He said that is unusual. So what does that mean..…
