Vet Reps Stats In
The BVA Chairman's report of 2006 to Nickolson -released this year not only contains the problems that deficient VCAA letters are causing as to remands but also more interesting info such as this chart showing % as to vet org and attorney of remand % per org. I have only seen one BVA decision in 2 years that I found faulty- things have defintiely changed at the BVA_ but still there is no suggestion in the report as to how to get the ROs to stop the VCAA violations. Very interesting stats here: BVA_VETORG_REMANDS.doc

Va Healthcare Means Test For Co-pays
I get questions all the time, how do they figure if I am to pay a co-pay at the VA Hospital. Well check the chart. Find where you live (State and county)...go over to the right (no in household). If your income is above that you pay. In 2008....look for copays to go up from 8 to 15 for script. Questions please ask. The chart is too large its at least 74 pages. Actually go to the link. Right click and open in new tab. http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/Library/GMTtips.asp

Chapter 35
Here is my Situation. I am not 100% pt at present. Hopefully I will be before to long. I have a seventeen year old Grand son, who I have Legal custody of and have had since he was two years old. I know I would have to legally adult him for him to be qualified for chapter 35 benefits. Here's the situation now . He is a junior in high school now, but he will be 18 years old this July (2007). Must I adult him before he is 18 years old even though he still has another year of high school. I would sure hate to lose out over being stupid. Thanks kkp

Help Me Figger This Out........?
Okay, I finally got 20% for my badly screwed up ankle. So, having never been SC'd before, I get myself set up in the VA healthcare system. First thing my primary care doctor does, is he sets me up for the prothesis dept to get me an AFO (Ankle/Foot Orthosis) because he says my ankle/foot is useless and this AFO will help the pain of my ankle when I walk and, if I wear it to bed, it will keep the bed covers from twisting my ankle when I try to turn over in bed, so maybe I'll be able to get some sleep......but, as useless as my ankle is, if they had a good surgical replacement, he'd recommend that, but, seeing as how they don't, they will try this AFO and if it doesn't wo…

Can You Bring Your Spouse & Tape/video Recorder To A C&p Exam?
Does anyone know if there is a regulation, training letter, SOP, or other documentation that either allows or prohibits a veteran from having another person such as a spouse present during a C&P exam? Are there exceptions in the case where the disability (like a mental condition or physically incapacitating illness) makes it difficult for the veteran to advocate for themselves? Is there a regulation, training letter, SOP, or other documentation that either allows or prohibits a veteran from tape recording or video recording a C&P exam? I thought about calling and asking the patient advocate at the outpatient clinic that did my C&P exam but given some …
