Healthgrades
http://www.healthgrades.com/PressRoom/inde...onsAdvisor33107 Not all states are covered yet. This data base is limited- I have not tried it yet and dont know what the fee is- Also there is a new Hospital data base- I have used Healthgrades to get run down on some VA doctors (they are not all there) as well as to help a vet knock down a VA "expert" by proving his doctor's credentials (at healthgrades) were superior to the VA docs (at healthgrades) it only cost maybe 7 or 12 bucks. His IMO doctor seemed unwilling to state his expertise- it was very extensive and he had no Curriculum Vitae prepared like Dr. Bash sends with his IMOs. Also he was getting angry w…

UNITED STATES COURT OF VETERANS APPEALS No. 90-583 Freddy, http://webisys.vetapp.gov/ISYSquery/IRLEF2...tmp/6/doc" Freddy J_ Odiorne, Appellant,_ Freddy J_ Odiorne, Appellant BVA 90-11724, at 9. The Board, although concluding that appellant is not precluded from all forms of substantially gainful employment, failed to give reasons or bases for its determination. Although the Board stated that appellant's "unemployed status does not establish that he is unemployable, since lack of employment may result from a variety of causes, not consistent with unemployability," it is appellant's contention that the sole cause of his current unemployment and his inability to find a…

Why We Need Mandatory Funding For Veteran’s Healthcare
Why we need Mandatory Funding for Veteran’s Healthcare By Gene D. Simes Chairman, Operation Firing For Effect March 29, 2007 Many people are confused about what full funding of the Department of Veterans Affairs really means. Below you will find 8 very good examples of why full mandatory funding of the VA healthcare system is essential. Merely visit the links included to view substantial documentation. On August 22, 1986, the VAMC in Atlanta Georgia released a Memorandum changing their procedures for self injections for diabetic insulin users. Long Tern Anticoagulant Therapy (counadin) Causing Gum Disease
If a Veteran is on routine long term Coumadin for a SC'd condition and it makes their gums bleed causing gum disease/tooth decay, can a secondary condition claim be submitted for that? During my one free dental exam, one VA dentist saw the gum problem and wanted to keep treating me but was overruled by a senior dentist...( not because as I overheard I didn't have a dental problem but because the dental department would be swamped by many Vets claiming the same thing )...although the dentist ordered a prescription mouthwash for me which I get filled regularly at the VA pharmacy. Anyone else have dental problems related from taking Coumadin for SC'd conditions?

"key" For Quick Claims Process?
I understand that when veterans file thier claim there can be certain circumstances when a hardship request would help the claim be expedited in the processing and rating award (terminal illness) My question is.... Does the VA prioritize a claim based on the type of claim? For example, cancer, amputee, Hearing, chronic fatigue symdrome.Multiple illness/injuries vs a single injury or illness. It seems that although the Iraqi freedom vets may be getting priority, there must be a certain amount of culling through claims to determine who gets processed quickly and who waits. It is obviously not done by first come first served. Does anyone really know the "key" for q…

ptsd Crappy Night At The Post Office
Last night was high on the stress level. The machine I had to operate was short-changed for labor in favor of others. Those who have worked on a DBCS may know the frustration of being alone running over 60k mailieces until it is too late to prevent multiple overfull stackers with their flashing lights and annoying beepers - there were over 150 on that run and you couldn't clear one fast enough before 3 more started. When I wasn't alone, I sometimes had substandard help - poorly trained newbies. When it was nearly over and the machine was stopped, I went to get a piece of equipment that the trays are placed in, about the dimensions of a refrigerator - it…
