Okinawa/thailand Vet
for rthomass and others: http://www.va.gov/vetapp06/files6/0640092.txt The BVA is taking these claims by far more seriously than they used to- The veteran did a lot of leg work--and the BVA stated: "Thus, based on the veteran's MOS and the supporting lay evidence, and with resolution of all reasonable doubt in the veteran's favor (see 38 C.F.R. § 3.102 (2006)), the Board finds that he was exposed to pesticides during service. However, the medical opinions addressing the question of medical nexus are not specific to pesticide exposure, and are not sufficiently definitive to resolve the claim on appeal. Accordingly, a VA examination to obtain a m…

Still Waiting For C&p Exam - Any Suggestions ?
Hi All; Been laid up for awhile - had bypass surgery this past December - but am feeling a little better now. Anyway ,I filed my claim via my Am. Legion VSO last June (2006) - The first part of January - this year '2007 I called the 800 # to inquire about the status of my claim , and if they knew when I could expect to get an appt for the C&P - all I was told was that , "It's still being verified. It could take up to another six months or a year." Is this normal ?? Can my VSO do something to put a 'fire' under them to speed things up ?? Any and all suggestions are appreciated... Thanks..

Hardship Requests
Greeting fellow Hadit members, Quick question… Can the Service Officer assigned to your claim submit a request for action on you behalf? In this case it is an 1151 and I want to request it be moved up on the list due to hardship reasons. They have said I can request this by sending a note to them but can the VA SO assigned submit this letter on my behalf since he has POA (Power of Attorney)? Thanks Josh

ptsd How Should I Handle This
I file a claim in March of 2005 for a increse for PTSD. I received a up grade to 30% effective April 2006. Right away I contacted my American Leigon Rep and he told me that on my intial claim form that the March 2005 date was crossed out and the April 2006 date was entered and that I would have to live with that date. So,I went to the Vet rep at the Cambria County courthouse wher I filed my claim in March of 2005 and she had my orginial claim with the March 2005 date on it. So,I said that my claim should be effective from the 2005 date and after her conversation with my American Leigon rep, which she said the same thing as him--sorry about the year that you lost on. I can'…

tdiu Senior Members, Former So's Please Only Respond
I've been doing research for a friend of mine. He is much older, as he is a Korean War Vet. The VA has been screwing him for way to long. He is rated 100 % TDIU and nobody even told him of ChampVA or his wife being covered. He has been paying out of his retirement for medications. I am very upset, so thats why I am VERY PISSED. He hasn't been able to get good advice from anyone and I have been researching. A private doctor indicated to him he has Hep and Cirrhosis of the Liver. As I listened, he indicated several chemical exposure while in Chosin Res. I know he can get an IMO. I reviewed what the doctor told him. I see a lot of denials for Cirrhosis of the Liver…

ptsd Electrical Shock Threapy
I visited my physc yesterday. She doubled my meds and said she is considering electrical shock threapy. Yet - she indicated that my GAF was 60. I'm 30% for PTSD and filed a claim for an increase due to recent service with Mortuary Affairs. Now I know that my brain is not quite right but this is not logical to me Mr. Spock. As always an appreciative veteran of all veterans. Jerry O

Tdrl/va/crsc?
Greetings...and thanks for the volume of information that is posted on this board. It has helped me to assist some junior Marines facing what I have gone through, and it has encouraged me as well. My question for the members is in sorting out what follows after I enter TDRL here in under a month. My percentage is 70%, and is from wounds in Iraq to include a TBI. Done all of the VAAP classes, TAP etc. Been through all the VA paperwork and their exams. They have the complete copy of my medical records, PEB, findings etc. All they need is the DD-214 which I'll get in just about a month. Once they have it....then what? I have over 30 years of enlisted/commissione…
