I was listening to C-Span and the generals explain about the military retirement boards for disabled soldiers. I bet 90% of injured soldiers get the low ball rating and then end up taking VA benefits instead. What a sad joke. I see you can't get both the disability pension from the military and VA compensation from what I understand. It is either/Or, and most lower enlisted are better off with VA compensation. That system is awful and is more adversarial than the VA from my own experience.

Greetings, My wife does the majority of my cares helps me dress, puts on shoes, ect. I asked my VA doctor if I qualified for AA and he wrote me a letter stating that I qualified for the critera for AA. The question I have is this. I do not receive visits from any health care nurse, as I am able to go to all medical appointements at the VA. My disabilites at the present time do not require any visits from an RN. My wife and family does everything. I am currently rated at 100% with SMC loss of use both feet. Any thoughts? Thank you and God bless. Bound4Heaven

Questionable Diagnosis
Team, Since I filed my claim in 2002, I have been bewildered by the decisions of the VA concerning my case. BRIEF HISTORY: During my 26 years on active duty, I was periodically seen for various joint conditions and pain. All of the conditions can be contributed to years of physical abuse of the body, parachuting, rucksacking, etc. It all started with my left foot being injured after a parachute jump. Initially diagnosed as a sprain, several years later and numerous tests, it was determined that I had an auto-immune disease going on and the foot was fusing on its own. Eventually after waiting for a couple of years for the foot to fully fuse, a decision was made to…

Accountant Wants Proof
I just left the accountant after doing taxes and I basically got thrown out of her office. She tried to say I am not elgible for any type of property tax credit (it is small, but I want it) because the state says you have to be 100% here in Michigan, according to her. I told her I am 70% IU P & T and its the same. Does anyone know where I can find proof of this? Thanks in advance. Cavman

Champva
ChampVA is refusing to pay my wife's claims. Has anyone had much experience with appeals on ChampVA. I am so frustrated I want to see my congressman, but will it do any good? The hospital keeps sending the bills to ChampVA and they keep ignoring or denying them. They are going to get turned over to a collection agency I fear. I filed appeals on the denials but it is taking months and months. I can't get them on the phone or find out anything. Blue Cross is the primary and ChampVA is secondary but so far they have never paid a dime.

Duty To Assist - Adequacy Of Examination
Pond v. West http://webisys.vetapp.gov/isysquery/irl59e4/1/doc ISSUE(S): Duty to assist - adequacy of examination; Reasons and bases - weighing all medical evidence of record The Board found that the evidence of record was against service connection for the appellant's cervical spine condition. First, the Board found that the service and postservice medical records from 1950 to 1966 did not reference any complaints or treatment relating to a cervical spine injury. The Board found that those contemporary medical records were more probative than the appellant's testimony that he had experienced neck pain after his jeep accident. Second, the BVA rejected Dr. Denton's m…
