tdiu Supplemental Monthly Compensation
I am 77, have 100% unemployability disability from the VA along with SS for my wife and myself. I am thinking of applying for Supplemental Monthly Compensation (SMC) because I cannot hear well enough to perform many of the chores around the house and I need some help. I cannot talk on the phone, and yes I have a captioned phone and it doesn't help. I can understand my wife if I see her talk, otherwise I can't. About 90% of the people I talk to, even if I am looking at them, I can't understand. I can't shop, or correspond with anyone except by writing. I need someone to help around the house - probably just one day a month to help my wife take care of things she does…

Navy Blue Jackets Manual 1960 Ed.
Hi to all, As you all know I am moving this week and just happen to locate my Navy Blue Jackets Manual 1960 Edition. We all know of the Honorable, General and Dis-honorable Discharge. listed are 10 reasons for discharge with explanation. For Unsuitable - nervous or have physical disability. I have the original paper that I signed with my signature and that of the personnel officer Lt. K stating that I was receiving a discharge of Unsuitable. The Commanding Officer has stated this also. Does this or does it not mean anything? My psychiatric consulations all say symptoms of nervousness, headaches and irritable. Dis-satisifed with working conditions …

ptsd Iu Question
First of all I would like to say Thank you for this forum! I am currently 80 % (50% ptsd, 40% lower back disc, 10% knee, 10% shoulder injury, 10% hip injury, 10% back surgery, and 10% tinnitus) yes, I am a mess. I currently work for the railroad and lately it has become an extreme challenge. I am on call 24-7 and have trouble even getting to sleep due to insomnia (thanks in no small part to the ptsd and physical pain I am in). I don't feel that i can continue working for the railroad due to the pain and severe lack of sleep that I get. I passed out on the steps at work a couple of months ago and a private doctor gave me 30 days off work and referred me to a neurologi…

Ao_project Shad-answers To A Few Questions That Came In From An Unidentified Source.
Fwd: From Kelly Answers to a few questions that came in from an unidentified source. "I've been reading the pages on the VA and congress about Agent Orange and i simply ask: where these reports ever published in a way the people of America knows the information. if any of this is true why cant the people do something." Dear questioner, I do not know what pages you have been reading so I do not know your knowledge base or if any of it is recent. The short answer is yes some of these studies are published mostly in Industrial Health. Our government's studies that were supposed to be done in order to help the Vets the data is also there to prove many is…

White House To Investigate
http://vawatchdog.org/07/nf07/nfFEB07/nf022207-1.htm Larry makes a provocative and painfully true comment before the links on this: "The sad part of this story is that the GIs at Walter Reed have now learned NOT to trust any government agency. That will make their transition to the VA just that much more difficult for them." What do other countrys think of us? This treatment of veterans is a National travesty and a Disgrace! Because we have a Free Press ( do due the sacrifices of veterans) we also have a propoganda machine by virtue of Free Press. I am not being political here- just that anyone anywhere in the world can see this disgraceful story on line.

Claims Pending
If your drawing the 100% benefit and you filed new claims before the award, should you continue to send evidence to win the new claims? My problem is I filed these at the same time as the appeal last year and I don`t want to rock the boat, but I have a good IMO on hand and hate to see it wasted. Can you mess up your current disability? Should I just forget about the claims pending? Cavman

Need Help Translating "va Speak"
Hi, I am a novice regarding the VA and it's workings and if anyone can help me, I would be very thankful. I received the decision about my case (I have multiple sclerosis/service connected) and part of the decision states "evaluation of adjustment disorder with mixed emotional features due to multiple sclerosis, which is currently 10 percent disabling, is increased to 30 percent disabling effective May 30, 2006." What does this mean exactly? It is obvious the VA increased the percentage but how is this reflected in reality? My VSO told me there is no monetary increase for my case. Am I missing something here? (I probably am) Can someone shed some light? Many thank…
