ptsd Decision For Service Connected Compensation Ptsd
Anyone can be of any assistance to me I would appreciate some advice. I have been trying to get service connected PTSD benefits for the past five years. I received a 30% level 3 years ago and since then I had to leave my employer(forced to retired) because of behavior problems, outbursts, cannot get along with others and many many more things too long to list. I am a Vietnam combat CIB vet with a purple heart. Just yesterday again I received a rating decision that sent me into a rage that each time it happens I have to take medication over and above needs to quiet down.(thank god for my wife or I probably would have ended it by now). Bottom line is this, I have a psy…

Suspense Date?
Hello, Went to the SO today and he said my husbands claim is still at the rating board. He also said that the claim had been worked on the 3rd of January. He said for us to check back with him in another 3 weeks. If we havn't heard anything by the suspense date he will call the VAROs office again to check on the claim. Does anyone know what the "SUSPENSE DATE" means.??? Thank you, Jangrin

ptsd Must Separate Ptsd And Concussion Residuals
I know this is JUST a BVA decision, but do they not consider the legal statements pertaining to the regs, where they point to the reg and violation when it comes to mixing and matching different diagnostic codes? Here is the excerpt I am talking about: BVA9414656 Upon review of the evidence, the Board finds that the veteran should receive separate disability ratings for service-connected PTSD and his service-connected residuals of concussion, identified as encephalopathy and dementia. While the PTSD and the concussion (physical trauma to the brain) may have resulted from the same incident, i.e., a mortar explosion, each is a distinct entity which warrants …

ptsd Va Gets Kudos For
Although I gripe- still the fact remains that VA does save lives everyday and I think their PTSD help is usually the cream of the crop- from VA Media email: (I think the Harvard media release was posted here already) Recent VA News Releases Journal Article Praises VA Health Care Secretary Nicholson: Further Proof of VA's Top Quality Care WASHINGTON (January 17, 2007) -- "One of the most striking examples of American health care success" -- that is one medical journal's recent assessment of the health care system operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The most recent tribute to VA's health care system came in an article in the medical …

ptsd Still Poed At The System
thanks to te replies to My frustrations last evening. I took the advice of Jargrin concerning an So. Our So retired about a year ago. Since then we have had two,one lastd three weeks the other two days. Thats why I was dealing through IRIS and calling the ro Myself.Today I got the number of the Hunington So's office. Thats the one that sends a rep. with you when you have a hearing. Boy there a difference. As soon as I gave Him My claim number He knew everything there was to know. Getting An Soc Without Filing The Nod
I have received from the RO, the results to additional claims. I’m sure all readers can guess what the ‘decision’ said. There’s an obvious glaring inconsistency as to what is on record and what the RO claims. QUESTION: I want to request the SOC but not file the NOD. Can I do that? My reasoning is that I want to know what they used as ‘evidence’ in making their decision but DO NOT want the 60-day clock requirement to start ticking with the filing of the NOD. TX in advance.

ptsd Just Talked To Va 1800#
Hello Everyone: Well to recap a little: I currently SC at a combined Rating of 70% (really 90%, 60% for Nerve Damage in all extremities and 30% for PTSD). I reopened my claim in Nov/05 for an increase due to the PTSD getting worse and asked for IU and T&P. Today the VA Rep told me that my claim was completed but she couldn't see all of the screens however what she could see is that they left the Nerve Damage at 60% and increased the PTSD to 50% which equals 110% but VA's Math wouldn't that be 90%? The VA Person said I have a combined rating of 80%. But she stated that she couldn't see the full rating only portions of it. She said something about from Dec 05…

Should I Do What My So Say's?
Hi All Veterans and Family and Friends of Veterans, I filed a request for a NOD review pending my original claims for depression, and for my feet (hammer toes, flat feet and bunions). The VA has not done the NOD yet. In the mean time, I file for additional claims for varicose veins and lower back pain secondary to my feet condition. I went to see my SO 9TX Vet Comm) to file another additional claim for posterior tibial tendon dysfunction. This is a small tear in my left foot which causes pain. The SO told me not to file additional claims because my file was in the review section and it would delay my claim by having then stop the review and look at the new clai…

Back To Rating Board
filed a service complaint in early December -as my POA seemed unwilling to check and see if my IMOs are in my C file even though a recent Iris inquiry I made stated they never got them at all- I put Attention Deputy Secretary Mansfield on the service complaint and asked him if I sent him the IMOs and five bucks for postage would he submit them himself since the RO denies receipt of them from me, my POA, and even the BVA.(maybe they would accept them from him-they are getting to the mail room) A few days later my claims went to a claims examiner-I received no Iris response. I just checked with them and they said my claims, on the 7th of Jan, went to a rating spec…

ptsd Vike17, Berta, I Got The Decision Letter From The Va
I just received the letter from the VA in a white envelope. Here is what they said pertaining to the skull loss, PTSD, and Unemployabiltiy claim. Skull Loss "The issues of service connection of skull loss and an earlier effective date for service connection of skull loss are deferred pending results of VA review examination." Unemployability "The issue of whether or not the veteran is entitled to Individual employability is deferred pending receipt of additional information." PTSD "As mentioned above, service connection of residuals of post concussion syndrome with brain trauma, left temporal contusion was previously established November 28, 1976, by …
