Claim Not Rated Yet, Just Got Scheduled For Spinal Surgery, What Now?
I just saw a Neurosurgeon for the first time today and have been scheduled for a lumbar discectomy on the 21st of this month. This is through a civilian doctor and the VA is not involoved at all as Im still under my 6 month window on Tricare Prime after exiting service in December. One of the issues I have in o my current claim is lower back pain with radiating sciatica. I have had an MRI that shows two herniated discs with one being very major at L5-S1. I have sent the VA the MRI report with a letter explaining it. I plan on getting them my actual MRI films after the 21st as my surgeon needs them until then. What Im wondering is what I should tell them abou…

ptsd Getting Ready For Next Battle With The Va A Couple Of Questions.
I was rated at 70% back in May of last year. I have finally waited for a year for the VA Voc Rehab to deem me unemployable. As my year is almost up, I have forced myself to sit down and get all of the info I have gleaned over the past year and write up my TDIU form, and also apply for increased compensation due to my back and nueropathy problems really getting out of hand for me. My Vet Center counselor wrote up a letter stating that I was unemployable and mentioned the failed businesses that I have ran into the ground. My Psychiatrist at the VA whom I see for my Medicine Evaluation every two months for 15 minutes, wrote up a form at the insistence of me showing h…

Mental Health Questions
Had my non VA PCM do a referal to a non VA mental health doctor. Had a appointment on thursday with a my Therapist, what a moron! When I see the psychiatrist on tuesday I am gonna ask for another therapist. This guy has no idea about medical issues, he asked me how to spell vicodin, said he thought it had 2 k's in it. Then he told me he was concerned that I was addicted to my pain meds, because the VA always lets my NARC rx's expire I always have to go with out pain meds every fourth month. I told him I got sick, cramps, nausea and the craps one time when I ran out. F$%&ing idiot. NARCS tend to constipate allot of people, they dont me, just slow me down a little, but …

Higher Rating Assignment Considerations
"Finally, the Board has also given consideration to the provisions of 38 C.F.R. § 4.7, which provide that, where there is a question as to which of two evaluations should be assigned, the higher rating will be assigned if the disability picture more nearly approximates the criteria required for that rating." from: http://www.va.gov/vetapp01/files02/0111307.txt and 38 CFR 4.7

Re-embursment Of Prescription Copays
I know I saw this adressed on the old forum somewhere. I can't find it here. My service officer seems to think its not possible but I'm sure it is. Could someone steer me in the right direction as to who I write and what I say or what proof to send that my meds over the last three years have all been service conected? Right now I'm not getting any money as my separation pay has to be recouped first, but it sure would be nice to stop having them hound me for money for medicine I have already recieved and might be nice to get back the few hundred in copays I have made. Thanks Kirk
