Date Of Form 9
It has been a very long time since I have been on Hadit. Needed a lot of time away from my appeal at the BVA - you know what I mean. Anyway, I have a big question for the "experts." Somewhere I read (not sure if in the CFR 38 or in a BVA ruling or where?) that the VA assumes that any notification from them will be received because the VA has confidence in the US mail. In other words, if they say they sent a notification, then a veteran cannot claim not receiving the notification. Am I making sense??? Does anyone know about this? Where can I find this "regulation?" I sent in a Form 9 concerning an appeal to the BVA with three issues. One issue was resolved, …

hypertension C&p For Hypertension ?'s
I just got the letter scheduling my C&P exam for hypertension. I was diagnosed by a civilian Dr a month after exiting service and put on medication. My BP is no where near border line and stays VERY high. The letter told me to bring a signed letter from my Dr showing readings on three different occasions which is no problem. My question is, what exactly can I expect at this C&P? Is he just going to take my BP? Should I stop taking my meds a few days before so that my BP will read high or what? If I go in there and my BP is normal because I am taking my meds would it be bad? This shouldnt happen though as I stay high even on the meds. I dont know what he …

Va Bill Would Give Vets Attorney Rights
http://www.armedforcesnews.com/ci/index.php VA Bill Would Give Vets Attorney Rights Rep. Lane Evans, D-Ill., ranking minority member on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., ranking minority member on the committee’s subcommittee on disability assistance and memorial affairs, have introduced a bill (HR-4914) that would permit veterans to hire an attorney when they disagree with a benefits claims decision of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Currently, veterans are not allowed to hire an attorney until the end of the administrative appeals process, specifically, after the Board of Veterans Appeals has rendered a decision. The restricti…

Just A Legal Point, But, I Believe, Truth Is An Absolute Defense To Libel.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Berta and seriously doubt these allegations. However, unless one has done an actual investigation, of someone, we have no idea what is true and what is not. Who's to say I'm not a thief, someone else a sexual predator or whatever? Just because one is nice and helpful now, doesn't mean squat. I believe until proven, differently, Berta is innocent, however we should not censor this discord. Maybe, a child disagrees w/a parent. Actual perception can be a defense. If I believed you were about to kill me and I killed you in self defense, I would've been justified. JMHO!

Request Suggestions For Pending Homelessness
I am a female veteran in Georgia who will be homeless in about 2 weeks because I was discharged unfairly and have been unable to get work. The VA homeless Network has not been helpful. In part because I am a female and there aren't a lot of female beds. I am not psychiatrically sick nor a drug/alcoohol abuser. Any suggestions are appreciated. i am scared. StarVista888

ptsd Just Need To Vent About Buddy
I ran into a fellow ptsd counseling buddy that I had group therapy with a couple years ago. We had both been going to the N.O. VA before Katrina, but now we are both going to Biloxi VA. I didn't even recognize him as he has lung cancer from A.O. Although he said he was 100% ptsd, he has less than a year to live from the cancer. I asked had he filed a claim for that situation he said no" I'm already 100%". His wife was with him and I told him he should file a claim today for his wife protection for DIC . We were standing in the hall way talking so it was a brief encounter . I am now at home with a guilty conscience for not getting his phone number or even his first name to…
