Anyone Had A Case Manager's Personal Number?
This is from a press release May 2001. Have any of you heard of this? Not me. It's as if I'm trying to break in to Ft. Knox if I indicate I would like to talk to someone at the VARO. (The link for the full fact sheet is below.) The VA sure does have good writers. If I didn't know about the claims process, I might believe them. But it's been five years since this press release, and I don't have my case manager's number yet. :( Case Managers. VA is introducing a system to give each veteran the name and phone number of a case manager handling the claim to improve communication, speed service and resolve misunder…

ptsd Help !
I was denied my PTSD Claim today because they said I couldnt provide proof that I was on the USS Ogden LPD-5 in November and December 1969. We were evacuating the 3rd marines out of either vung tau or quaviet ( My spelling sucks and also my memory ) we were designated as the morgue ship. If anyone has any ideas on how to get the ships logs I would appreciate it. I heard the National Archives would be a good start or the Navy archives. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Gordon

Weird C&p
I filled a claim for Tendonitis (right elbow & shoulder pain) & Post Traumatic Arthritis (wrist), all caused from a vehicle accident while in service. I realize now that may have not been the best wording I could use. I had a really nice doc but he didn't measure any ROM, no x-rays, nothing. He asked me how the injuries happened and spent most of the 30 minutes talking about my medication and how to deal with pain and the evils of smoking. The only exam he did was to hold my arm and ask where the pain was. He said quote "you have some nerve and some muscle damage". He said he would write his report stating my injuries were caused by the accident, but he ha…

The Latest On The Continueing Saga,
The latest and the most interesting, the phone clerk at the VARO says my claim is still waiting on development, but added that they should be opening the file sometime early April. Maybe he looked at his rystal ball and it told him, how could he know when the file will be opened for adjudication? I can only hope that they belgin to really work the claim and all, actually having someone looking at it. I just hope I get one of the Claims Raters who can also read and takes the time to fully understand what no one else has seemed to do in the past. Of course, thier is always my CUE claim as a last resort. I'm getting tired of their slif shod work and failure to do t…

C And P Exam Effectiveness
I have read several posts mentioning the ineffectivness of c @ p exams. Doctors not using Goinometers to do accurate measurments. Incomplete exams. It is up to the Veteran to help themselves when getting an exam. A Vet needs to do the following activities. 1. Print off the criteria for the exam from the website and take it with them to the exam. 2. Study the criteria before you go into the exam. 3. When the exam is being done, Keep open communication with the Doctor. If the Doc does not use a Device to measure range of motion, Tell him the directive states that one should be used. ( Not using the device is called taking unacceptable shortcuts) Make them stick t…
